Over the last couple of years, our focus has been primarily on how we can serve you better. So far, we’ve implemented new systems to streamline the ordering process and invested in new embroidery and laser engraving machines that allow us to produce more specialized merchandise and deliver it faster at a better price. Additionally, significant improvements were made to the FFA online store, ShopFFA, improving navigation and making order processing more efficient.

Our “You Talk. We Listen.” initiative, which began in 2010, allows you to tell us how we can better serve you. You told us you’d like to see shipping rates reduced. We listened, working hard to find ways to lower shipping rates. This spring FFA introduced new lower shipping rates that will remain in effect through the 2012-13 school year. We also have developed a new gift card program. Gift cards can now be purchased and used online at Shop FFA. Many customers asked that we provide more coupons and discounts. In general, if a student is of average weight and height, the chest/bust measurement is the size of the jacket that should be ordered (i.e., if the chest/bust measurement is 38˝ and the student is of average weight and height, then you would order a size 38 jacket). The following chart information should only be used if a student is between sizes or if you are unsure of what size to order. Please note: the average height of a female is 5´5˝ and the average height of a male is 5´10 .̋ The charts provide you both actual body measurements and actual measurements of the finished jacket. There are separate charts for both the male and female jackets. The jacket measurements provide for ease throughout the chest/bust, hem and sleeve areas in order to make the jacket fit comfortably.

HEIGHTJackets are designed for students of average height. (5´5˝ for females, 5´10˝ for males.) If your student is 2-3 inches shorter or taller than average, they should be able to wear a standard jacket. If they are 2-3 inches shorter than average, the sleeves will be a little long and the jacket will hit lower on the hip. If they are on the taller side, the sleeves will be a little short and the jacket will hit higher on the hip. For students outside of this range, it is recommended that a tailored jacket or a larger size be ordered.

WEIGHTJackets are designed for students of average weight. Students carry their weight differently. Depending on whether weight is dispersed evenly or located in one spot, you will need to determine if you need to order a tailored jacket or if moving up a size will work.

CHEST/BuST

The chest/bust measurement generally determines what size jacket to order. If you are between sizes, it is generally recommended that you move up to the next larger size. However, the actual jacket measurement at the chest/bust has eight inches of ease for males and six inches of ease for females, so if a student is only slightly larger and the shoulder measurement for that size is within a quarter inch, he/she should be fine with the smaller size. To select the appropriate size, you should evaluate both the shoulder and chest/bust measurement together in order to determine which size to order.

HEm

The hem measurement is the actual jacket bottom opening. This measurement is referred to as the “high hip measurement.” This measurement is measured six inches below the waist for males and four inches below the waist for females as explained in the “Jacket Fitting Video” at www.FFA.org/jacketfitting. If a student’s high hip measurement is less than the measurement in the chart above and there is at least three inches of additional ease (actual high hip measurement plus three inches), the jacket should fit comfortably. If there is less than two inches of ease, a size larger or a tailored jacket is recommended.

SHouLdERThe shoulder measurement is one of the most critical fit measurements. This measurement is generally the same on the jacket pattern as it is on the actual body. If a student is evenly proportioned, the shoulder generally drives how the jacket will fit through the rest of the body. Use the chart above along with the chest/bust measurement to determine what standard size jacket to order. If the shoulder measurement is between sizes, it is recommended that you move up to the next larger size.

CEnTER BACk

The center back length measurement is the actual jacket measurement from the seam under the collar to the bottom of the jacket back opening. If your student is 2-3 inches either side of the average height, the center back length on a standard jacket should be fine. If they are on the shorter side, the jacket will hit a little lower on the hip, or if they are on the taller side, the jacket will hit a little higher on the hip. For students outside of 2-3 inches on either side, it is recommended that a tailored jacket be ordered.

SLEEvEThe sleeve length measurement is the actual jacket measurement from the center back neck of the jacket, over the shoulder and down the sleeve to the bottom of the cuff. If your student is 2-3 inches either side of average height, the sleeve length on a standard jacket should be fine. If they are on the shorter side the sleeves will be a little long, or if they are on the taller side the sleeves will be a little short. For students outside of 2-3 inches on either side, it is recommended that a tailored jacket be ordered.

In general, if a student is of average weight and height, the chest/bust measurement is the size of the jacket that should be ordered (i.e., if the chest/bust measurement is 38˝ and the student is of average weight and height, then you would order a size 38 jacket). The following chart information should only be used if a student is between sizes or if you are unsure of what size to order. Please note: the average height of a female is 5´5˝ and the average height of a male is 5´10 .̋ The charts provide you both actual body measurements and actual measurements of the finished jacket. There are separate charts for both the male and female jackets. The jacket measurements provide for ease throughout the chest/bust, hem and sleeve areas in order to make the jacket fit comfortably.

HEIGHTJackets are designed for students of average height. (5´5˝ for females, 5´10˝ for males.) If your student is 2-3 inches shorter or taller than average, they should be able to wear a standard jacket. If they are 2-3 inches shorter than average, the sleeves will be a little long and the jacket will hit lower on the hip. If they are on the taller side, the sleeves will be a little short and the jacket will hit higher on the hip. For students outside of this range, it is recommended that a tailored jacket or a larger size be ordered.

WEIGHTJackets are designed for students of average weight. Students carry their weight differently. Depending on whether weight is dispersed evenly or located in one spot, you will need to determine if you need to order a tailored jacket or if moving up a size will work.

CHEST/BuST

The chest/bust measurement generally determines what size jacket to order. If you are between sizes, it is generally recommended that you move up to the next larger size. However, the actual jacket measurement at the chest/bust has eight inches of ease for males and six inches of ease for females, so if a student is only slightly larger and the shoulder measurement for that size is within a quarter inch, he/she should be fine with the smaller size. To select the appropriate size, you should evaluate both the shoulder and chest/bust measurement together in order to determine which size to order.

HEm

The hem measurement is the actual jacket bottom opening. This measurement is referred to as the “high hip measurement.” This measurement is measured six inches below the waist for males and four inches below the waist for females as explained in the “Jacket Fitting Video” at www.FFA.org/jacketfitting. If a student’s high hip measurement is less than the measurement in the chart above and there is at least three inches of additional ease (actual high hip measurement plus three inches), the jacket should fit comfortably. If there is less than two inches of ease, a size larger or a tailored jacket is recommended.

SHouLdERThe shoulder measurement is one of the most critical fit measurements. This measurement is generally the same on the jacket pattern as it is on the actual body. If a student is evenly proportioned, the shoulder generally drives how the jacket will fit through the rest of the body. Use the chart above along with the chest/bust measurement to determine what standard size jacket to order. If the shoulder measurement is between sizes, it is recommended that you move up to the next larger size.

CEnTER BACk

The center back length measurement is the actual jacket measurement from the seam under the collar to the bottom of the jacket back opening. If your student is 2-3 inches either side of the average height, the center back length on a standard jacket should be fine. If they are on the shorter side, the jacket will hit a little lower on the hip, or if they are on the taller side, the jacket will hit a little higher on the hip. For students outside of 2-3 inches on either side, it is recommended that a tailored jacket be ordered.

SLEEvEThe sleeve length measurement is the actual jacket measurement from the center back neck of the jacket, over the shoulder and down the sleeve to the bottom of the cuff. If your student is 2-3 inches either side of average height, the sleeve length on a standard jacket should be fine. If they are on the shorter side the sleeves will be a little long, or if they are on the taller side the sleeves will be a little short. For students outside of 2-3 inches on either side, it is recommended that a tailored jacket be ordered.

The National FFA Organization return policy has recently changed to make returning merchandise easier for you. The official FFA jacket is a personalized item and cannot be returned or replaced. A new jacket must be ordered for jackets that are ordered too small, too large or lettered incorrectly by the advisor, student or parent.

oFFICIal JaCket PolICY: FFA jackets are sold to and are for use by active constitutional FFA members only. If a jacket is given or sold to a non-member, the emblems and lettering must be removed.

oFFICIal JaCket desCrIPtIon: The jacket is made of 100% domestic cotton “national blue” corduroy with a concealed zipper, slash welt pockets, adjustable brass buckle tab waist, inside pockets and double-needle stitching for durability. Matching Swiss embroidered emblems are on the front and back in “national blue” and “corn gold.”

domestIC or ImPorted: We offer both domestic and imported jackets. All fabric is made of 100% U.S. cotton and is either assembled domestically at Universal Lettering Company or with our agent overseas. All jackets are inventoried and lettered at Universal Lettering Company and are pulled randomly from stock. If you require a domestically assembled jacket, you can select the “Domestic Jacket Required” box on the jacket order form for an additional $10 charge.

JaCket FIt: Carefully reading the instructions on how to order jackets is imperative. Due to the change of the jacket fit in the Fall of 2005, you WILL NOT be able to use old fit jackets to determine what size to order as the old jackets are not cut in the same way as the new ones. In general, if a student is of average weight and height, you will only need to measure their chest/bust and order the corresponding size.

JaCket sIZes: Male jackets (Item 100) are available in sizes 28-56. Female jackets (Item 103) are available in sizes 28-50.

orderInG InstrUCtIons: FFA offers two standard jacket styles, Item 100, tailored for the average male (5´10˝) and Item 103, tailored for the average female (5´5˝). The charts on page 54 are for standard jackets and provide the actual body measurements and physical jacket measurements by size for both males and females. If your student is of average weight and height, simply measure their chest/bust and order the corresponding size. If you have any doubt whether you are ordering the correct size, simply take a few more measurements and determine if the measurements are the same as the body measurements for that size (see chart on page 54). If you find that they are not, check the actual jacket measurements to see if there will be enough room to account for the discrepancy or whether you should order a size larger for a more comfortable fit. Official jackets CANNOT be returned, exchanged or credited.

JaCket Front letterInG: Official jackets are lettered on the front with computerized embroidery. On the order form, include your full name and the latest FFA office held with date. Dates will be used only when you specify an FFA office. Only one office can be used.

JaCket BaCk letterInG: List your state name (which will be above the emblem) and your chapter name (which will be below the emblem). Back lettering cannot be re-lettered, so take extra care when ordering.

Front re-letterInG: FFA offers the service of changing jacket lettering. Only the front of official jackets can be re-lettered. Re-lettering orders will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis. Some older jackets made of lighter material cannot be re-lettered and will be returned to you at no charge. To have a jacket re-lettered, please send the jacket along with the following information typed or written out on a sheet of paper:

retUrn PolICY: FFA will replace, exchange or give credit for any non-personalized item up to 90 days after the date of purchase. The National FFA Organization return policy has recently changed to make returning merchandise easier for you. You can now create your own return label and select the method of return—UPS or U.S. Postal Service. Our new return process allows you to create a UPS shipping label that can be printed on your printer and must be placed on the package. We encourage you to use UPS but packages may also be dropped off at your local U.S. Post Office. Complete the return form and follow the steps included in your order. If you misplaced the form, go to FFA.org/shop and click on “Returns & Exchanges” under Customer Service.

The official FFA jacket is a personalized item and cannot be returned or replaced. A new jacket must be ordered for jackets that are ordered too small, too large or lettered incorrectly by the advisor, student or parent.

oFFICIal JaCket PolICY: FFA jackets are sold to and are for use by active constitutional FFA members only. If a jacket is given or sold to a non-member, the emblems and lettering must be removed.

oFFICIal JaCket desCrIPtIon: The jacket is made of 100% domestic cotton “national blue” corduroy with a concealed zipper, slash welt pockets, adjustable brass buckle tab waist, inside pockets and double-needle stitching for durability. Matching Swiss embroidered emblems are on the front and back in “national blue” and “corn gold.”

domestIC or ImPorted: We offer both domestic and imported jackets. All fabric is made of 100% U.S. cotton and is either assembled domestically at Universal Lettering Company or with our agent overseas. All jackets are inventoried and lettered at Universal Lettering Company and are pulled randomly from stock. If you require a domestically assembled jacket, you can select the “Domestic Jacket Required” box on the jacket order form for an additional $10 charge.

JaCket FIt: Carefully reading the instructions on how to order jackets is imperative. Due to the change of the jacket fit in the Fall of 2005, you WILL NOT be able to use old fit jackets to determine what size to order as the old jackets are not cut in the same way as the new ones. In general, if a student is of average weight and height, you will only need to measure their chest/bust and order the corresponding size.

JaCket sIZes: Male jackets (Item 100) are available in sizes 28-56. Female jackets (Item 103) are available in sizes 28-50.

orderInG InstrUCtIons: FFA offers two standard jacket styles, Item 100, tailored for the average male (5´10˝) and Item 103, tailored for the average female (5´5˝). The charts on page 54 are for standard jackets and provide the actual body measurements and physical jacket measurements by size for both males and females. If your student is of average weight and height, simply measure their chest/bust and order the corresponding size. If you have any doubt whether you are ordering the correct size, simply take a few more measurements and determine if the measurements are the same as the body measurements for that size (see chart on page 54). If you find that they are not, check the actual jacket measurements to see if there will be enough room to account for the discrepancy or whether you should order a size larger for a more comfortable fit. If you have any questions, please contact one of our customer representatives for help. Please follow the instructions and illustrations carefully! DO NOT GUESS! Official jackets CANNOT be returned, exchanged or credited.

JaCket Front letterInG: Official jackets are lettered on the front with computerized embroidery. On the order form, include your full name and the latest FFA office held with date. Dates will be used only when you specify an FFA office. Only one office can be used.

JaCket BaCk letterInG: List your state name (which will be above the emblem) and your chapter name (which will be below the emblem). Back lettering cannot be re-lettered, so take extra care when ordering.

Front re-letterInG: FFA offers the service of changing jacket lettering. Only the front of official jackets can be re-lettered. Re-lettering orders will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis. Some older jackets made of lighter material cannot be re-lettered and will be returned to you at no charge. To have a jacket re-lettered, please send the jacket along with the following information typed or written out on a sheet of paper:

• Name, street address (not a P.O. box) and valid telephone number.• Chapter name, ID number and advisor’s name.• What you want removed from the jacket.• What you want added to the jacket.• Your payment—check, money order or school purchase order number.*• Make checks or money orders payable to Universal Lettering.• $24 for regular four-week re-lettering.• $34 for RUSH two-week re-lettering.*Every re-letter must have payment to process.

delIVerY: All jackets are processed on a “first-in, first-out” basis. Orders are expected to be delivered within 7 business days plus transit time. (Note: Deadline for receiving jacket orders needed for the 85th National FFA Convention & Expo is Sept. 14, 2012. Please plan accordingly. Official jackets needed in less than 10 business days will be charged expedited shipping and handling fees.)

sHIPPInG: FFA will ship your order between 7 and 21 calendar days once order is received depending on what is ordered. For specific shipping details by type of item see the tables below.
