In addition, running back/linebacker Myles Jack of UCLA has been named both the Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year. Offensive Player of the Year - Ka’Deem Carey, RB, Arizona: Carey , a junior from T ucson, Ariz., rushed for 1,716 yards on 322 attempts in 11 games this season, leading the Pac-12 in rushing yards per game (156.0 yards per game) while his total touchdowns (18) were second in Conference and all-purpose yards per game (171.7 yards per game) was third. The Doak Walker award nalist becomes the rst Wildcat to win offensive player of the year honors in the history of the award. Carey’ s streak of 15 consecutive 100-yard performances is a Pac-12 record and is the longest active streak by an FBS player over the last 10 years. The nation’s second-leading rusher was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2013, the rst coming after a 236-yard performance on a then school-record 40 carries in a win over Utah on October 19. The second-weekly honor was earned following another 200-plus yard night on a new program-record 48 carries as the Wildcats upended No. 5 Oregon on November 25. Carey is a two-time All-Pac-12 rst team performer and was the nation’s rushing champion in 2012. Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year - Will Sutton, DE, Arizona State:  Sutton, a redshirt senior from Corona, Calif., earns the honor for the second-consecutive year, making him just the second player in Conference history to earn defensive player of the year accolades twice in his career, the other being former Washington defensive tackle Steve Emtman, who won the award in 1990 and 1991. He anchored a Sun D evil defense that was third in the Conference in total defense (351.0 yards per game), was tied for second in sacks (36 total sacks) and led the Conference in forced turnovers (30). Sut- ton lead an aggressive defense that has forced one turnover in 26-consecutive games, which is good for third in the country among FBS schools for longest-active streak. On the year, Sutton recorded 10.5 tackles for loss for 38 yards, three sacks and an interception that sealed a win over UCLA to clinch the Pac-12 South Division title and earn the Sun Devil’s rst Pac-12 Football Championship game berth. Freshman Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year - Myles Jack, RB/LB, UCLA:  Jack, a freshman from Bellevue, Wash., made an immediate impact in his rst season of collegiate football, playing on both sides of the ball for the Bruins. He started 11 of 12 games at his true position of linebacker, collecting 70 tackles on the year, the third-most of any freshman in the Conference, adding ve tackles for loss, an interception, a blocked kicked and 10 pass breakups. Jack became a two-way player for UCLA towards the end of the season, rst jumping in at running back in a win over Arizona on November 9. In the victory over the Wildcats, Jack rushed for 120 yards on six carries, including a 66-yard touchdown late in the game to seal the win and earn him Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
