BOB CROUCH

Robert Crouch passed away on February 20, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Bob was a scientist, pilot and engineer with degrees from Purdue and MIT. He had a successful career in the public and private sector working as a science advisor to President Kennedy, General Motors and Lockheed.

In his “retirement,” he founded Mountain Meadow Mushrooms, Inc. in Escondido, which he ran for over 20 years. A world traveler, he spent many of his later years exploring the world with his wife, Elisabeth.

He was an active board member of many community organizations supporting education and the arts. Bob and Elisabeth established the Robert and Elisabeth Crouch Scholarship at CSUSM in 2004.

Anne Kay passed away on July 4, 2013. After retiring from UCSD, she became passionate about philanthropy, traveling and reading mystery novels.

She started the Anne Kay Scholarship at Cal State San Marcos, helping hundreds of students realize their dreams of a college education. She also regularly donated to other local charities that give back to the community.

The understanding that helping those around you is mutually beneficial is a concept that Anne, through example, tried to convey to others.

MYRNA REES

Myrna Reese, a longtime community advocate and 2000 Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame inductee, passed away on February 18, 2014.

Myrna and Lou Reese were married from 1974 until Lou’s death in 2006. They ran Reese Creative Communications, a full-service advertising and public relations agency. Myrna’s career included doing TV and radio commercials, documentaries, public service announcements and writing.

Myrna was also a passionate volunteer with the Fenstermaker Foundation, which established a scholarship at CSUSM in 1997, and she frequently attended and supported University events.
