Practice Locations/TimesEast Carolina will hold their Friday and Saturday practice at Clearwater Central Catholic HS. ECU moves to Tropicana Field for the Sunday practice. Ohio will hold both of their practices at Tropicana Field.
Tropicana Field: Media can park in Lot 2 and enter the stadium using Gate 4. Once inside you will take the elevator to the fi eld service level and enter the fi eld from the home plate entrance or via the 1st base dugout. Media should wear their game day credential to practice.

Media Will CallCredentials not claimed at the media headquarters by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. will be transferred to Tropicana Field and will be available for pickup on game day at Media Will Call (Gate 4) beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Press BoxTh e Tropicana Field press box opens at 11:00 a.m., three hours before kickoff . Th e PRESS BOX is located on the 2nd Level. Radio broadcast booths are located on the 3rd Level. Th e media entrance is at Gate 4. Upon entering the building, bags will be inspected and tagged accordingly. Once inside the press box, please consult the seating chart for your seat location.
Photo Work AreaTh e Tropicana Field Photo Work Area is located in the fi rst base dugout. A fi eld-level work area for computer editing will be setup with electric. Upon entering the area, please check-in with the Bowl PR Staff representative who will show you to your pre-reserved workspace. Table workspace on fi eld level is limited, if requests exceed available space, additional work areas will be made available in the press box.
Post-Game Field AccessMedia are permitted access to the playing fi eld in the closing minutes of the game. Elevators begin departing the Main Press Box at the 5:00 minute mark of the fourth quarter and will run to Field Level through the end of the game. Th e elevator is dedicated to media use at that time, so there is no hurry to leave the Main Press Box.
Post-Game InterviewsImmediately following the end of the game is the Championship Trophy presentation at midfi eld. After the customary 10-minute “cooling off ” period, the non-winning head coach, Team MVP and selected players will be escorted to the interview room. Th e winning team head coach, Team MVP and selected players will follow. Only accredited media with proper credentials will be admitted. A sports information representative from each team along with Bowl PR Staff will be available to assist the media.
Both team locker rooms are closed. Any additional player and/or coaching staff requests should be directed the school sports information staff .

Kickoff LuncheonSunday, December 22, 2013Time: NoonRenaissance Vinoy ResortBusiness casual attireCoaches, student-athletes, athletics staff and offi cial travel party join the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl staff , sponsors, community leaders and fans for a luncheon at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort. Th is year’s featured speaker is the 2011 Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner and boxer Dewey Bozella (full bio is on the next page). Both head coaches will also be speaking at this event. To attend, credentialed media need to register at the Bowl Media Headquarters by Saturday, December 21 at Noon (seating is limited for media). Both head coaches will be made available to the media prior to Kickoff Luncheon. Dewey Bozella will be available for media interviews in the ballroom at the conclusion of the luncheon.
Battle of the BandsSunday, December 22, 2013Time: 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.Tradewinds Beach ResortFans, bands, cheerleaders and mascots in beach attire for an afternoon full of fun and festivities. Th e bands will battle it out on the white sands of St. Pete Beach playing a number of songs. Th e cheerleaders and dance teams will also perform routines. At 3:30 p.m., the cheerleaders will compete in a tug-o-war, followed by a band tug-o-war. Th e event will wrap up with the always thrilling eating contest. Th e event is free to the public.

The inaugural game featured USF from the BIG EAST and Memphis from Conference USA.
USF quarterback Matt Grothe, who earned the game’s Most Outstanding Player award, three
for three touchdowns and rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries to lead USF to a 41-14 win. USF
scored on four of its fi rst fi ve possessions to build a 24-14 halftime lead on its way to scoring
more than 40 points for the fourth time in 2008. The Tigers entered the contest averaging
more than 200 yards via their ground game, but the Bulls had the nation’s ninth-best rushing
defense and it showed. USF held Memphis to only 66 yards on 30 carries, and Tiger running
back Curtis Steele, a 1,00-yard rusher, gained most of those with 48 yards on 12 rushes.Matt Grothe, QB

Rutgers and Central Florida lined up against each other for the fi rst-time ever in the second
edition of the Bowl. The Scarlet Knights tied their season-best for points scored with a 45-24
win over UCF. Rutgers’ Mohamed Sanu, the game’s Most Outstanding Player, accounted for
three of the team’s fi ve touchdowns. Sanu caught four passes and two touchdowns. The
Scarlett Knights three other touchdowns came on a 65-yard pass reception by Tim Brown an
interception return by Billy Anderson and kickoff return by Damaso Munoz on an attempted
onside kick by UCF. Rutgers defense held UCF’s offensive in check recording a bowl record six

The 2010 game between the Louisville Cardinals from the BIG EAST and Southern
Mississippi Golden Eagles from COnference USA was a thriller to the end and captured
the highest television ratings (2.6) in the short history of the bowl, up more than 20
percent from the previous year. The game featured numerous highlights including a one-
handed touchdown grab by USM QB Austin Davis on a trick play, a 62-yard touchdown run
by USM’s Desmond Johnson and a 96-yard kickoff return by Louisville’s Jeremy Wright,
plus many bone-jarring hard hits. The Cardinals prevailed 31-38 on a fourth quarter fi eld
goal by Chris Philpott, capping a successful turnaround season under fi rst-year head
coach Charlie Strong.

The fourth installment of the game pitted the Marshall Thundering Herd of Conference USA against
the FIU Panthers of the Sun Belt Conference. Two key plays, one by special teams and another by
the defense late in the fourth quarter propelled Marshall to a 20-10 win. With the score tied at 10-10,
Marshall’s Zach Dunston blocked a punt that led to a 39-yard fi eld goal by Tyler Warner with 5:16
remaining in the game. On the ensuing drive, Marshall’s Omar Brown forced a fumble on FIU star T.Y.
Hilton on what would’ve been a successful 3rd down conversion that would’ve put the Panthers near
midfi eld with 4:24 to go. Marshall’s offense ran the clock down to 38 seconds left when it had a 4th and

In a game that pitted two nine-win teams, one of only four bowl games to have both teams have at least nine wins, Conference USA member UCF scored the game’s fi rst 13 points and jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead to coast to a 38-17 victory over Ball State of the Mid-American Conference. The Knights racked up 494 yards of offense, just two yards shy of the bowl record set by USF in 2008 against Memphis. Game MVP Blake Bortles accounted for 352 yards (272 passing, 80 rushing) as the redshirt sophomore threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. NFL Draft pick Latavius Murray caught a pair of TDs from Bortles and also ran for a score as he totaled 104 all-purpose yards.
