The Advancement Office is proud to report the success of our fourth St. Mary School 2013-2014 Annual Fund which raised close to $60,000 with over 200 donors in support of the mission of St. Mary School. We are grateful for all those who contributed this year including our parents, school board, faculty and staff, alumni, grandparents, parishioners and friends of St. Mary School and Our Lady of Peace Parish. In addition, we also had families designate their donations in memory of their loved ones. We were blessed with many gifts-in-kind from our school and parish families as well. We are truly grateful for all the thoughtful donations we have received.

Because of the generosity of our donors, St. Mary School has been able to support a number of needs indicated at the start of the 2013-2014 Annual Fund appeal including building student programs, technology, facility improvements, and faculty development.

THANK YOU to our over 200 volunteers, including our parents, faculty, staff, School Board, PTA, Parent Ambassadors, Class Leaders, current students, alumni, grandparents and friends, who have volunteered their time and talent to help the students and families of St. Mary School.

THANK YOU to our Pastor, Fr. Mazz, our current parish priests, Fr. Bakey & Fr. Mohan, Youth Minister Kari Janisse and the staff of Our Lady of Peace Parish for all of their support and encouragement of St. Mary School.

Saint Mary School pursues academic excellence, builds a foundation for spiritual growth and cultivates the values rooted in our Catholic heritage and Marian identity. We teach and inspire our students as they discover and develop their talents, enabling them to attain their God-given potential. In turn, they contribute to a vibrant parish and community now and in the future.

The SMS 100 Club program enables local businesses to donate a tax-deductable gift of $100 to the current year’s Annual Fund. Your business’ generosity will be acknowledged on our website, in our Annual Report, and in a

variety of written communication to our school families during that

current school year. Your business name will be seen by

close to 400 school families as well as the hundreds of visitors to our

website and recipients of our Annual Report. We welcome our

local businesses to take part in this new initiative which greatly

supports our school. Our goal is to have at least 100 local businesses participate in our new program. To participate in the SMS 100

club, contact Jackie Kern in the Advancement Office at

About CharitableContributions

Saint Mary School is blessed to have so many volunteers and benefactors who

give their time, talent and treasure to the school each year.

We welcome contributions from individuals as well as businesses in

the community who can receive benefits for their donation.

All donations made by companies or individuals are tax deductible –

so if you own your own business, don’t forget the tax benefits of making

a cash donation to SMS.

While we believe at Saint Mary School that your primary motivation

to donate to us is a commitment to our mission in the community,

we also think you should know that great tax benefits exist for those

who give. A gift to a qualified charitable organization like SMS entitles you to a

charitable contribution deduction against your income

tax if you itemize deductions.

Maximize the amount of money going to Saint Mary School by reviewing your employer’s matching program. Many employers will match charitable donations made by their employees throughout the year.

Often employers extend these matching programs to include gifts made through workplace giving campaigns. It is important for you to inquire about your employer’s matching criteria so that you can maximize the impact

of your donation. For example, some employers double the impact of a donation by matching each dollar. That means if you can only afford to give $500, the charity actually receives $1,000. Once you understand your employer’s matching plan, you can make the most of your workplace giving campaign and maximize the level

of funding your favorite charities receive. This year matching gifts totaled over $2,000 in the Saint Mary School Annual Fund.

For more information about making a Corporate Donation or for questions about exploring Matching Gifts, please contact Jackie Kern at 856.629.6190 ex. 34.
