2013-14 Season Presentation Night Platinum Room, The Foundry Hotel

The club gathered together for the annual Presentation Night at the Foundry to celebrate the successes of the season. The usual lavish evening had been expertly organised by a willing band of volunteers, and the decorations matched the glamour as the senior swimmers in particular took the opportunity to dress to impress. The season’s outstanding achievements were acknowledged in photographic and video forms, the undoubted highlights including the magnificent performances by the senior girls’ medley relay team in finishing 9th at the Australian Championships in Brisbane, the clean sweep of all the trophies at the 2014 Central Victorian District Championships and the strong performances at Country and State championships. Rebecca Holmes spoke eloquently on behalf of the swimmers, in what was her farewell to the club, and the swimmers took the chance to relax, dance and reminisce while the parents and supporters enjoyed a superb meal and a chance to catch up without keeping one eye on a pool. The enthusiasm and excitement as the swimmers received their awards was palpable, the celebration of the swimmers achieving National representation was a huge encouragement to the younger team member to persevere and achieve this level. The culmination of the evening was the award of the club’s major trophies, with Kate Jordan taking the Beaurepaire Cup as the outstanding senior swimmer, with the junior award shared by Thomas Hawke and Cameron Jordan. The Awards: Over the 2013-14 season, swimmers at the Bendigo East Swimming Club broke 393 records, including 126 District Records, 250 Club Records, & 17 Championship Event Records.
