What is the EOG?

• The test assesses the students in math and reading on grade level.

• The test is NOT created by Discovery Education like our Benchmarks.

• The test is created by the state of North Carolina.

• Wednesday May 28th

• Thursday May 29th

EOG Test Breakdown

• Math-– Taken on one day, unlike previous

EOGs.– 44 questions– Second section of the test allow

calculator use.• We have calculators, no need to provide any

from home.

– Questions allowing calculator use: 22

Tips for Test Day

• Do something FUN the night before the tests.• There will not be any homework• Go to bed early• Eat a nutritious breakfast with protein

– Breakfast will be provided at school

• Arrive to school on time!– Students who arrive late cannot be

admitted to the classroom once the test has started.

– They will have to take the test on make-up days.

How We’ve Prepared…

• Online resources throughout the year– Probes, AR, Study Island, Moby Math,

etc.

• Tutoring- after school• Remediation groups during the day• Discovery benchmarks review in

classrooms

Portfolios

• 12 skills must be passed with 70% mastery. (11 correct out of 15 on 3 passages in each skill)

• Incomplete portfolios for students who do not pass the EOG will be continued in summer school and transitional 4th grade.
