Spring is the time for rebirth and renewal in nature, and with recent events in Cyprus, this has never been more symbolic for theisland. It is 'holiday as usual' and visitors to the island will be greeted with the same beautiful Cyprus-in-spring that has alwaysexisted; fields of multicolour flowers in bloom, pleasant warm temperatures, the opportunity to eat al fresco, to go on leisurelywalks of discovery and to experience the warmth and hospitality of the locals. As always, Larnaka continues to progress, surpriseand delight with its family-friendly coasts and activities, ideal sporting conditions and preparations for the forthcoming Easterperiod - the most important religious celebration in the Greek Orthodox calendar. So, enjoy all that your favourite region isoffering this spring from natural beauty to organised activities... and don't forget the sunglasses and sunscreen!

With so much to offer as atourist destination, Cyprus is still a 'keyplayer' in the tourism industry.

New Community Members

The Larnaka Tourism Board is pleased towelcome three new members to its 'family'- Athienou, Kiti and Zygi. Welcome to Larnaka... In TrueCypriot Style!This spring season has seen the launch ofnew promotional 'fam trips' as well as thewelcoming of maiden flights to Larnaka... intrue Cypriot style! The fam trips aredesigned to showcase Larnaka to those inthe tourism industry abroad who are notfamiliar with the region and all it offers. Aspart of the trip, a special event is organisedin Europe Square along the famous palm-tree lined Finikoudes strip.

New Info-point at Larnaka Port

A new info-point has been installed atLarnaka Port for cruise ship passengersdisembarking in Larnaka for both day andnight trips to the town. The info-point isthe collaborative initiative of the LarnakaTourism Board, the CTO, the LarnakaMunicipality and Larnaka Port itself. Staffedby an Information Officer who is equippedto answer any questions regarding Larnaka,visitors can also find suggestions on whatto see or do during their trip based ontheir preferences.

Larnaka is blessed with the perfectweather conditions for a variety of sports,and following research on wind conditions,the coastal area from Mazotos to Kitivillages (west of Larnaka) has beenconfirmed as the best spot for kitesurfingon the entire island - and one of only ahandful of ideal spots in the Mediterraneanregion. Larnaka has steady consistentwinds throughout the year, which areperfect for kitesurfing as it is a sport thattakes advantage of both wind and waterelements.
