To achieve a 90% rate of compliance in relation to Violent Offenders adhering to conditions of release

Interagency Cooperation Formal coordination with other police agencies has been established to monitor violent offenders stemming from incidents outside the Region of Durham. This project was initiated by 2 frontline officers.

Theft from Autos in Pickering• Numerous cars were broken into in Pickering and a pattern was
identified in the bi-weekly report. Increased patrols, media release and auxiliary officers distributed lock it or lose information. Thefts stopped.
Guelph-Humber University – Education Campaign Development• Guelph-Humber students have developed a media campaign designed
to promote community mobilization in relation to suspicious and criminal activity.

Break and Enters• Numerous citizens have been educated on preventative strategies by
19 CIB property crimes.
• Educations sessions have been held with neighbourhood watch groups as well as different cultural associations.
• Media has been used to educate with plans for education in Tapestry insert
• Utilizing crime analysis to target areas of break and enters as well as suspects, surveillance utilized and arrests made targeting 93 zone

Seniors Education Campaign• Meeting with stakeholders and general strategy and training completed
with officers who will provide training
• Several training sessions have been held with numerous seniors groups over 500 seniors have had training.
• 5 sessions planned in October and NovemberThis has received positive feedback from community partners
