City is applying for a $200,000 Cleanup Grant (site specific)
---------------------• Can submit up to three site-specific cleanup proposals. • $200,000 is the maximum amount available per site.• Can be used for cleanup of both petroleum and
hazardous substances.

• Grant funds may be used for direct costs associated with the cleanup activities, required performance reporting, construction oversight, and environmental monitoring of cleanup work.
---------------------• Grant funds may not be used for administrative
costs - with the exception of financial or performance reporting - or application preparation costs.

Site Eligibility Requirements:• Applicant must be the sole owner of the site• Applicant must own the site at the time of proposal
submission• Applicant must provide a 20% Cost Share
($200,000 Grant requires additional $40,000)• Applicant must have performed AAI at the time they
acquired the site.• City awaits eligibility determination by Region 5

Environmental Challenges -• Nearly 20 buildings in various
states of disrepair, some have lead paint and asbestos containing materials
• Existing service tunnels, which consist of concrete structures that house utilities and steam pipes with asbestos insulation.
• Ash piles with elevated levels of metals near powerhouse.
