Note: Trip permission slips received at Membership Meetings have the final information for a trip – this

Membership Meetings are open for all high school students interested in joining the program,

MA members and staff. MA members are encouraged to attend all of the bi-monthly

Membership Meetings. This is a time to meet new friends, play games, eat pizza but most

importantly, sign up for the new adventures! If you miss a Membership Meeting, stop by the MA

office, room 131 3, to get signed up. Check out some sneak peeks into your future adventures…

The Great Boat Project: Mountain Alliance has added a sailboat to it’s fleet! It is going

to take a consistent team of dedicated students to get her back in the water. We will have

a team working on the sailboat every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3:30-7pm.

Experience working with boats, wood and tools is helpful, but not necessary. Talk to a

MA staff if you are interested becoming a team member of the Great Boat Project.

Random Acts of Service: Students in the Mountain Alliance Student Leadership

Committee have identified needs in our community and planned four service projects!

Join us for all of the Random Acts of Service projects as we go our part to make our

world a better place!

Alternative Spring Break: Don’t miss these awesome trips!

Rebuild Birmingham: We will be spending a week in the heart of Birmingham, AL.,

repairing buildings, homes and lives that were destroyed by last Spring’s tornados.

Evenings will be spent exploring Birmingham culture and flavors! Building experience

is helpful, but not necessary. We will be working with an organization who will be

providing on site training for all of our projects.

Colorado Ski Adventure: Westward Bound! Every four years, Mountain Alliance

organizes a ski trip out west. This year’s adventure we are heading to Breckenridge, CO.

It is a great place for all abilities with over 1,915 skiable acres: 15% green, 37% blue and

48% black.

***Students participating on a trip are to check in at the Mountain Alliance office, room 1313, directly

after school. The majority of our trips are suitable for beginners. All high school students in Watauga

County are welcome to participate. Students MUST have a Membership Application completed and signed

by a parent or guardian before participating on a trip. Transportation to and from WHS will be provided for

all trips unless state otherwise on the trip detail sheet.

Trip Detail/Permission Sheets are received at Membership Meetings or from the MA office.
