    Salary:$ 67,597 - $77,570 per annum + super

    An opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Web content coordinator and project managerto drive the redevelopment of Leichhardt Councils Website. The Position will also head up Councils

    move towards Web 2.0, Social Media and Web Content Accessibility Guideline compliance.

    The successful applicant will monitor and draft website content, coordinating updates with staff memberswhen required and ensuring a dynamic content flow. They will also liaise with an external digital agencyto either adapt or completely re-imagine the current site, with an eye on future accessibility requirementsand the development of the site as a two way communications and consultation tool.

    The position will then continue to act as a liaison point between council and the agency to manageongoing maintenance and upgrades of the site. An understanding of the opportunities provided by socialmedia such as twitter and Facebook is essential. Ideally applicants will also have an eye for graphicdesign that will allow them to be an active part of a redesign of the look of the site, plus provide designassistance to internal clients.

    Requirements:

    1. Extensive experience with Content Management Systems and knowledge of HTML.

    2. Demonstrated experience in writing and editing web content to best practice guidelines.

    3. Demonstrated understanding of social media use

    4. Demonstrated experience with Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat or similargraphic design applications.

    5. Good time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesand to work on a number of projects concurrently.

    6. Demonstrated communication skills, including interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to producecommunity information and promotional material.

    7. Ability to operate effectively in a political environment

    8. Knowledge and understanding with a commitment to implement EEO & WH&S principles.

    REPORTS TO : MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONSCOORDINATOR

    1. PURPOSE

    1.1. To coordinate and maintain a proactive Gov 2.0 and Web Content AccessibilityGuidelines (WCAG) compliant website for Leichhardt Council and to lead Councils

    social media presence.

    1.2. To provide graphic design assistance and publication coordination.

    2. OBJECTIVES/ KEY TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES

    2.1. In consultation with the Media & Communications Coordinator, update all existingwebsite content, maintain the content and structure of Councils website andundertake daily updates to website information

    2.2. Investigate and identify opportunities to upgrade or implement a new website forLeichhardt Municipal Council.

    2.3. Act as project manager for external consultants engaged to construct and maintainthe existing and/or a new website

    2.4. Coordinate the internal network of website content managers and work with all partsof Council to ensure that website information is accurate and up-to-date.

    2.5. Act as liaison between organisational content managers and contracted websiteCMS providers and determine when issues require escalation for externalconsultation.

    2.6. Use the website and other electronic communication methods to assist withcommunity engagement activities undertaken by all parts of Council.

    2.7. Develop and manage social media opportunities to promote Leichhardt Council.

    2.8. Proactively seek new initiatives to improve Councils online presence, shareinformation and engage with customers

    2.9. Contribute to the development of tactical marketing campaigns, specifically withregard to interactive opportunities

    2.10. Measure and report on social media effectiveness

    2.11. Monitor and report website statistics

    2.12. Design and format brochures, newsletters, posters and other material to assist withthe communication and promotion of Council projects, services and events.

    2.13. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limitsof the employees skill, competence and training

    3. PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

    3.1. Timely update of all existing website content and subsequent investigation andidentification of options for a Gov 2.0 and WCAG compliant website for Council

    3.2. A progressive and proactive social media presence in Councils communications andcommunity engagement processes.

    3.3. Timely and professional in house design and coordination of external print anddesign contractors.

    PERSON SPECIFIC SELECTION CRITERIA

    5. DESIRABLE

    5.1. Previous experience in Local Government or other Government field.

    5.2. Qualifications, or progress towards qualifications in information technology,communications, marketing, website production or a related field.

    WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY

    RISK MANAGEMENT OF LEICHHARDT MUNICIPAL COUNCIL ASSETS

    All employees of the Leichhardt Municipal Council are accountable for the management of risk within their ownareas of responsibility. Risk includes, but is not limited to:

    Injury to persons or damage to the property of members of the community. Environmental risks.

    Damage or unauthorized entry to the Councils buildings and damage to its equipment.

    Conducting Workplace inspections, developmentof a hazard register, conducting Audits whereappropriate.

    Regular team meetings

    Commitment to WH&S

    Visibly showing commitment to health and safetythrough participation in formal and informaldiscussions, workplace visits and hazardinspections etc
