Semi-Annual Donor Update
JANuAry 2012
YOU made the differenceAs I reflect on 2011, I am humbled and deeply thankful for the support the Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI) receives each day... because it is the children and families we serve that experience the real value of your contributions.
We desperately needed to renovate our therapeutic playrooms and a litany of volunteers stepped forward and made the playrooms what they needed to be – havens of comfort and support for the children we serve. Every day, parents walk through our doors in need of essential baby care items and the countless drives people held throughout the community stocked our Baby Pantry full and helped thousands of babies. We needed to hire additional staff to deepen our therapeutic work with children and youth and your generous contributions arrived in spades.
Your support helped transform Neil • - from the “new kid on the block” who was struggling to pass 6th grade into a bright, bubbly 7th grader. Neil began to thrive as he built relationships with caring adults, got help with his homework, and made new friends at our Neighborhood Centers program.
You helped carry young Jade• through her traumatic past as she discovered how to communicate her emotions and how to trust her adoptive mommy through therapeutic play and family therapy in our newly renovated playrooms.
You helped build confidence in Lane• , a young dad, as he reconnected with his daughter through supervised visits and child-parent relationship therapy.
It is hard to believe that I’m beginning my third
year as Executive Director of CCFI. I am having even more fun than when I started and I am full of more hope than ever before. Thanks to yOu, 2012 will be a transformational year for the organization! your support – including the incredible multi-year pledges many of you have provided – are allowing us to expand our therapeutic and youth development services for children, youth and families in our community.
We will not only serve more clients in 2012 but we will serve them more completely in order to bring even greater healing and hope to their lives. I look forward to sharing our progress and our clients’ outcomes with you as the year unfolds.
For those I have met, thank you for your steadfast support and guidance. For those I have yet to meet - please stop by my office any time or meet with me over a cup of coffee. I would love to thank you in person. It is because of yOu that we are able to do this work, and that is something we never forget.Thank you for your abundant love of children,

Relationships are essential.
Every child has the right to be safe, loved and nurtured.
Change and healing are possible – for individuals, families and communities.
Prevention works and saves money and should therefore, be a part of
everything we do.
People deserve to be treated with respect and dignity… All the time.
Everyone has strengths.
All parents need help and resources and should not be ashamed to ask.
Celebration and appreciation are essential in life and work.
The Soul of CCFIThe following list of core values reflects what is truly important to us as an organization. These
are not values that change from time to time, situation to situation or person to person, but
rather they are the underpinning of our culture.
...because every boy and girl deserves to grow up safe,
nurtured, and loved.
