• Teen Center offers exciting and challenging group activities at New Heights and fun day trips to local amusement parks, water parks, and state parks

• Staff to participant ratio is 1:10 or better

• Register by the week or day passes are available

• Teen Center registration is open all summer

• New participants are always welcome!

• Day, overnight and week-long extended wilderness expeditions

• Trip activities include rock climbing, paddling, surfing, boogie boarding, camping, and hiking

• Trips are designed for both novice and experienced participants

• Trips geared for youth entering grades 6 through 12

• All trips are led by experienced New Heights staff

• At least one Wilderness First Responder on all extended trips

• Staff to participant ratio of 1:7 or better

• No experience is necessary for Adventure Trips

NEW TRIP! The Big Cheese -Travel to the deepest depths of Vermont at Quechee Gorge State Park, followed by a cornucopia of cheese, fudge, maple candy, and snacks at the world famous Cabot Cheese store. You will leave with a smile. Say cheese!

NEW TRIP! Monkey Trunks - So, you’ve tested your skills climbing and walking the beam at New Heights and now it’s time to take your climbing skills to the next level at Monkey Trunks’ King Kong Course in Saco, Maine! Bring your Super Mario skills!

Adventure Trips

Beach Volleyball & Surfing (13+)

Wednesday & Thursday

Spend a few glorious summer days California style, hitting around the volleyball and surfing the coastline. We will start each morning by heading to the beach, testing our volleyball skills and working up a little sweat. For our cool down we will grab our boards and head into the swell. Surfboards and wet-suits available for use. Please bring bathing suit, towel, water bottle, & a snack.

Fine Arts Sampler

Monday thru Friday

All artists need a foundation of basic techniques in order to let their style and creativity shine through. Join New Heights’ teaching artist, becca pawling, for a week-long survey of 2D essentials for fine artists. We will sample materials like graphite, charcoal, and oil pastel, as well as watercolor and acrylic paint. We will experiment with drawing techniques like gesture, stipple, cross-hatch, and use live models, as well as setting up still life sets with dramatic lighting. This camp features “en plein air” field trips and guest presenters.

Great Bay Geocaching Adventure

Monday & Tuesday

Climb over trees, rummage through leaves, and maybe get a little muddy while exploring the beautiful Great Bay. As part of our adventure, we will learn and experience the world-wide treasure hunting game of Geocaching.

There are caches hidden at all of the locations we will visit, and with our trusty GPS in hand we will do our best to find them all. Please bring small inexpensive trinkets to trade in the Geocache.

Mean Cuisine

New Heights’ Mean Cuisine is a unique opportunity for students to work along side some of the Seacoast’s finest chefs. Using recipes and fresh ingredients that our guest chefs will provide, participants will help create a different meal each day while learning about kitchen safety, nutrition and how to prepare fun, easy and delicious meals right at home!
