On behalf of the Trustees of the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, I would like to welcome you to the 16th season of Speedway In Lights, Powered by TVA. It is hard to believe this is the 16th year of what has become one of this region’s most treasured holiday traditions.

We hope Speedway In Lights puts a smile on your face because by attending, you are putting a smile on the faces of thousands of needy children in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. We want you to know that every penny of the net profit for Speedway In Lights goes to children’s non-profit organizations in our area. Due to your generosity, we had a payout last year of $660,000 that went to 84 different agencies. That brings our fifteen year total to more than $6.5 million. Thanks for making a difference in the lives of these children.

If you know of qualified children’s charities that need our help, please have them fill out the 2013 grant application (http://bristol.speedwaycharities.org/grant/). We are always looking for new agencies to assist!

The tram runs at 6 p.m. & 8 p.m. each night and included a 30-minute stop in the General Shale Christmas Village! Be sure to show up early to get your seat because space is limited. Tickets for the tram are sold at the HVAC Chill Hill ticket window located adjacent from the Johnson Controls Ice Rink. Any group looking to reserve seats or the entire tram should call in advance.

The region’s most dazzling holiday light show returns to Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. Speedway In Lights, Powered by TVA, kicks off its sixteenth season with more lights and a route that offers visitors the chance to take a lap around “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”

Holiday light seekers will circle the concrete oval as part of their festive drive and also may visit General Shale Christmas Village, which returns to its popular infield location. In addition to spicing up the region’s holiday season, proceeds from the event will benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, brightening the lives of thousands of children.
