Will your child be 5 years old by September 1, 2012?

Yes—your child may start kindergarten in August of 2012.

No—your child is not old enough for public school kindergarten. Contact the VPK Office at 407-320-0463 for Pre-K information.

Know your school zone!The school zone for your child is determined

by the parents’ address.Follow this link to find your school zone: School Zone Search

What is your school zone?If the result is NWC or NEC you reside in one

of the cluster zones and you need to follow the Cluster School Assignment Process explained later in this presentation.

If the result names a specific school, watch for Kindergarten Registration information at the zone school in April.

All Seminole County Public School students in any school zone may apply to attend an elementary magnet school.

General InformationWaiting pools

Students that are not assigned to a magnet school or who are not assigned to the first preference cluster school are placed in a waiting pool

TransportationBus transportation is provided to all students living

more than 2 miles from the assigned schoolPre-K and Head Start

Students in Pre-K and Head Start at one of the cluster schools are not automatically assigned to the school. Parents must follow the same kindergarten application process and timeline.
