Bosch India Foundation

The example of Health Care support

in India (with NGOs)

Bosch India Foundation is a trust formed in 2008 by 4 group companies in India. Each

company contributes 0.5% of ‘profit after tax’ to undertake / support activities in select

areas of education (vocational skills) and health care. Currently, around 490 people are

benefited by the foundation for ‘cleft lip’ and ‘orthopedic’. surgeries.

The example of vocational skills

training (with NGOs)

Bosch India Foundation has implemented several vocational skills training (viz. plumbing,

basic computers, retail sales, guest care, sericulture and life skills) with the support

of various NGOs benefiting around 630 rural / urban youth from the underprivileged

sections of the society. Many new trainings (viz. electrician, fitter and mobile repair)

have been recently started.

In-House Vocational training

Example: Bosch Vocational

Center

Some 930 young people embark on various trainings at Bosch Vocational Center

each year. We also support our suppliers for their training needs.

Bosch associates also benefit by sending their children for ‘summer training’ and

as ‘project trainees’ to Bosch Vocational Center.

Effluent treatment plants ensure that our manufacturing facilities are near zero

discharge facilities (treated water used for gardening) and also have greatly reduced

consumption of fresh water.

Solar installations have replaced grid supplied electricity in some of our buildings.
