Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award

• Named for the creators of the first successful powered airplane

• Lifetime achievement award for pilots

• First authorized in 2003

Qualifications:

• 50+ consecutive years as CAA / FAA pilot– Up to 20 years can be military

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident all that time

• “Clean” pilot record– No revocations, civil penalties, or suspensions

Qualifications:

• 3 letters of recommendation from FAA pilots

• Must apply to FAA; can download the forms

• Award can be up to 2 years posthumously

• Leon dedication and enthusiasm have led him from a young solo pilot in 1961 to his commercial and instrument ratings and is a respected member of our aviation community.
