ABOUT THE GAME No. 23 TCU makes its 2011 home debut Saturday when it hosts the University of Louisiana at Monroe at 1 p.m. in the first-ever meeting between the teams. Saturday’s game will also mark TCU’s first contest in Amon G. Carter Stadium amidst its $143 million renovation. Capacity for the 2011 season is 32,000. After full comple- tion of the renovation in time for the 2012 campaign, Amon G. Carter Stadium will seat 43,000 with the ability to expand to 50,000. Following this season, the east stands, opposite the press box, will be redone and have a double-deck appearance similar to the new north end zone. TCU is playing its 81st season at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Saturday begins a three-game homestand for TCU, marking the second straight year and third time in six seasons the Horned Frogs will have three consecutive home dates. Last season, TCU outscored Wyoming, BYU and Air Force by a combined 114-10 margin during its three-game homestand. TCU has won nine straight home openers under head coach Gary Patterson. In six of those victories, the Frogs allowed 13 points or less. TCU is 9-1 overall in home open- ers under Patterson. TCU is facing a team from the Sun Belt Conference for the first time since a 16-10 home victory over North Texas in 2002. Since 2005, the Frogs are 34-1 in day games and 60-4 in Saturday contests. Last week’s trip to Air Force marked the only time TCU will leave the state of Texas in the opening five games of the season. The 2011 campaign marks TCU’s seventh and final season in the Mountain West before beginning BIG EAST Conference play in 2012. MILESTONE WATCH TCU head coach Gary Patterson has 99 victories and is one shy of reaching the 100- win mark. Patterson is also closing in on Dutch Meyer’s all-time record for victories by a TCU head coach. Meyer was 109-79-13 from 1934-52, including leading the Frogs to national championships in 1935 and 1938. DEFENDING THEIR HOME TCU has a school record 20-game home winning streak. The streak is second all-time in Mountain West history, trailing only Utah (21, 2007- 10). The Utes’ streak was snapped by TCU’s 47-7 win last season. TCU’s 20 straight home wins rank third for the longest current streak in the nation (Oklahoma 37, Boise State 32). Under Gary Patterson as head coach, the Frogs have a 51-6 home record. Since 1999, TCU is 62-6 (.912) in its last 68 home games. TCU hasn’t lost a Saturday home game since the 2004 season finale against Tulane. In their last 10 home dates, the Frogs have allowed just 13 touchdowns and outscored their opponents 452-106 (an average margin of 45-11). The Frogs have recorded five shutouts in their past 26 home dates. THE WIN COLUMN TCU has won 28 of its last 30 games and is 39-4 in its last 43 contests. Since the start of the 2008 season, TCU is 37-4. The Frogs’ 37 wins trail only Boise State (39-2) and Alabama (38-5). The Frogs are one of just three teams (Ohio State, Oregon) to play in a BCS game each of the past two campaigns. The last three seasons have seen TCU’s seniors graduate as the winningest class in school history. Last year’s seniors won 44 games in four years. The 2011 seniors have already won 37 games. TCU has reached at least 10 wins seven times in the last nine years, including six seasons with 11 or more victories. TCU ULM THE COACHES TV/RADIO

AIR FORCE 19

Sept. 10, 2011 • AttendAnce: 42,107FalCon stadium • usaFa, Colo.

usaFa, Colo. - TCU routed Air Force 35-19 Saturday for its 18th straight win in Mountain West play.

The Horned Frogs were efficient against Air Force, winning without two of their top players, as tailback Ed Wesley and linebacker Tanner Brock didn’t make the trip due to injury.

Wesley’s absence created more opportunities for Matthew Tucker, who scored on a 1-yard leap and a 3-yard run in the first half as TCU built a 21-0 lead. Tucker finished with 95 yards on 16 carries, and Waymon James rushed 13 times for 55 yards and a TD.

Kenny Cain replaced Brock at linebacker and was one of three defenders who made his first career start. He had seven tackles and was joined by newcomers Trent Thomas at safety and Kevin White at cornerback in the starting lineup.

Tucker’s 1-yard leap made it 14-0 and his second TD run came after Antoine Hicks made a one-handed, 21-yard catch.

Quarterback Casey Pachall finished 20 of 25 for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He was almost perfect in the first half, completing his first 11 passes and 16-of-18 overall for 174 yards and a TD.
