My grandmother has a cabinet filled with albums that she started after the birth of her first grandchild. She began one for each grandchild and filled it with photographs of their birth, school plays, prom and many other life events. every Christmas the grand-children go to the cabinet and pick out their album, relive the stories of their lives and search for new additions that made it into the book that year.

i got my storytelling ability from my grandmother. the photographs that she chose for the books were the ones that said everything about that life event on one piece of photo paper. She did not choose only the professional portrait made in a studio, but the ones that showed our true personalities and a life being lived.

With each photograph that i take, i strive to capture the spirit of the subject. Photo-shoots are laid back, fun, and personal. Before the photoshoot we will talk and set a list of goals you want to come out of the session. there is no need to worry about achiev-ing the perfect photo. Come confident, ready to share your story, and most importantly, as yourself. leave the storytelling to me.
