PSDAPSDA members make up a substantial niche segment of the greater printing industry. PSDA members buy print and print services to resell or distribute to end-user customers. These companies are primarily print distributors, but are also ad agencies, design firms, marketing firms and freelancers. PSDA also serves the printers that sell through the trade and suppliers that support the industry.
PSDA By the Numbers � PSDA supports more than 1,200 member companies
representing more than 11,000 individual employees. Approximately 20% of all printing sold on annual basis ($14 billion) flows through this industry segment.
� Nearly 31% of all PSDA member companies have belonged to the association for more than 20 years.
� PSDA’s membership comprises more than 750 print distributors, resellers and marketing service providers. Approximately 79% of PSDA distributor/reseller members report annual sales volumes at or under $2.5 million, with 21% reporting annual sales volumes at or over $2.5 million (and 4% over $20 million).
� PSDA’s membership also comprises nearly 400 printers and 70 industry suppliers. Approximately 10% of all printers sell exclusively to the trade. In general, 4% of all printers classify themselves as a “trade printer,” while 45% of printers classified as “commercial printers” actively sell through the trade. Approximately 40% of PSDA printer members report annual sales volumes at or under $2.5 million, with 60% reporting annual sales volumes at or over $2.5 million (and 18% over $20 million).
