2011 Intelligent Green Building Design Competition

Guidelines

1. Background

Because of greenhouse effect and climate change, it is a global tendency to integrate

green building and intelligent technology and push forward to the intelligent green

building. It is also one of the strategies of Taiwans government to achieve energy

conservation, emission reduction, and green lifestyle. Intelligent green building is

defined as a building combined with green building design, intelligent high techniques,

materials, and products in order to reach the purposes of safety, health, convenience,

comfort, and environmental sustainability. The Ministry of Interior, Architecture and

Building Research Institute (ABRI) authorizes Industrial Technology Research Institute

(ITRI) to conduct 2011 Intelligent Green Building Design Award, which is the fifth time

since 2007, in order to inspire participants imagination and creativity. All participantsmay construct an innovative idea based on the insight of present lifestyle and future

development trend, including considerations of all the human needs in order to provide

references for industry in developing future living technologies. It is expected that as a

result some good ideas may achieve quality life of green living and also increase the

competitiveness of local industry.

5. Qualification and Registration Procedure

I. Either individual or teamwork participants (organization) are welcomed to attend

this competition.

II. Counterfeiting or plagiarism is not allowed. Any participants work that violates

this rule will be disqualified, revoked prizes and announced it in public. In the

event of plagiarism, participants will be held responsible for any loss of rights

and/or interests by third parties and must accept all legal liability.III. Either a new building design, or an existing building refurbishment, with

intelligent green building design is acceptable forDivision Bparticipants.

IV. For foreign participants attendance please go to http://design.ils.org.tw/english,

download the registration form, complete it and e-mail to [email protected].

V. Participants can submit more than one works, but please complete each registration

individually.

6. Work Submit RulesDivision A: Creative Thinking Division B: Toward Future Home

2. Poster: Please present the work on

a vertical poster with 90 cm inlength*60 cm in width, whichincludes graphic or at most 300words. The work label (approx5cm*5cm, Appendix B) should beattached on the back of the poster inthe lower right corner.

Participants should present clearlyfor design concepts, distinguishingfeatures, and innovative design ofspaces, products, and services.

3. Concept Description: To includethe title, concept description up to1000 words, and explain how the
