The Eagles selected Danny Watkins with the 23rd overall pick in the2011 NFL Draft. A former firefighter from Kelowna, British Colum-bia, Watkins did not start playing football until the age of 22 while at-tending Butte College in Oroville, CA, where he quickly became oneof the top players in Junior College. He went on to start 25 gamesat Baylor, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2010.

Hisfather, Clay Matthews Jr., played a whopping 19 years at line-backer for the Cleveland Browns (1978-93) and Atlanta Falcons(1994-96), earning four Pro Bowl berths along the way.
