Country for a cause: Buffalo Bar hosts benefit concert for Becky Klino

    Thursday, June 17, 2010 8:03 PM

Jun. 17--Chances are you don't know Becky Klino, but you probably know of her son, Branson Perry. You've undoubtedly seen his face on flyers and billboards around the area. He has been missing since2001, but the tireless search for him has continued at the hand of his mother, who refuses to give up.

However, the search for Perry recently hit a bump in the road -- a big one. In April 2009, a tumor wasremoved from Klino's brain and she was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma. At the time, doctors told her

she had six months to live They also rounded up some local country artists to donate their time andmusical stylings Saturday. Erin Hatcher will perform at 2:30 p.m., Scott Allyn Peery will follow at 4 p.m.and Casey Brett and Bruce Hall of Borderline will take the stage at 6 p.m. An auction will be held at 7:30p.m. and all of the country musicians will get together for a performance afterward. in Scottsdale rightnow, but she needs approximately $20,000 more to receive all of the treatments.

Allen and Lake quickly sprang into action andorganizedan all-day benefit concert, which will be held at the

Buffalo Bar from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. June 19. All proceeds -- every cover charge, every beer or sodapurchased, every single dollar that goes to the Buffalo Bar that day -- will go to Klino to pay for hertreatments.

"It's so easy to help," Allen says. "You know, everybody can eat a hot dog. Everybody can drink a pop."

Casey Brett says he and Hall have a set of originals and cover songs prepared for the event.

"It's all about getting people there and keeping people there," Brett says. "We all need to support Beckyin her time of need. ... I can't imagine anyone going through what she's been through."

If Klino's heartbreaking story or the country artists won't get you down there, maybe some of thedonated auction prizes will. A trip to Las Vegas, an antique armoire, concert tickets, autographedmemorabilia, Budweiser and Miller merchandise and Elvis Presley and Dale Earnhardt memorabilia areamong the many prizes.
