Let’s be honest: most us ride for the joy of it. Study after study demonstrates that bicyclists are healthier, happier and live longer. This May, come see what all that waving and smiling and happy bell ringing is all about. What’s more, every time you bike to work (or school or the store) you strengthen the case for safe, convenient bicycle routes around our region. The dramatic increase in F5 Bike to Work Day and the Group Health Commute Challenge show leaders that cycling improvements on the streets and in businesses are good investments.

We invite you to roll with us in the 2011 Group Health Commute Challenge throughout National Bike Month. To participate, you need only to start or join a team, commute at least five days throughout the month and track your trips online. It’s simple and fun!

This year, we’re rolling out some great new elements of the Commute Challenge:

• Sleek new calendar interface.

• Simplified registration process.

• Captain of the Year—and New Captain of the Year

• Blog feed with daily photo and video inspirations of the day

• Mobile compatible

• Challenges within the challenge

Go head-to-head with other riders in Individual Challenges

Captains can challenge other teams

Businesses can challenge their peers, neighbors or competitors

• More server space for a speedier experience
