Take the opportunity to earn continuing medical education credit, network with your peers nationally and internationally, speak with exhibitors about new products and devices, and experience the city of San Diego. The AACE Annual Meeting not only has an outstanding program scheduled for attendees, but also includes events for the family such as a reception, three educational breakfasts, and a scheduled tour during the meeting.

The Clinical Congress Program officially begins on Thursday, April 14; however, satellite programs begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 13. Also on Wednesday are the following ½ day programs: Advanced Diabetes Update: Giving Endocrinologists the Latest Tools to Lead Their Communities, the AACE Maintenance of Certification Learning Session and Practice Management 101 (this course is open to Fellows-in-training only). Additional information on each course can be found throughout this program. Attendees are encouraged to come early to participate in these exciting educational activities. Note that attendee registration will open at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 13. All meetings and programs will be completed by 11:15 am Sunday, April 17.

The Twentieth Annual Meeting of AACE is structured to provide relevant clinical information for the practicing endocrinologist. The program will focus on information that will allow you to achieve the best solutions for the diagnosis and management of endocrine disease. Pertinent scientific, clinical practice and patient management information will be disseminated via general sessions, workshops, meet the experts and satellite symposia. This material will update the endocrinologist in not only common and uncommon endocrine disorders, but also newer modalities, which aid in effective practice management, and in assessing the impact of managed care in the field of endocrinology.

attendance policyAttendance at the AACE Annual Meeting is open to AACE physician members and nonmembers (MD and DO) and allied health professionals (AHP), including PharmDs, PhDs, endocrine nurses, diabetic educators, dietitians, etc. There is a one-time registration fee and a daily registration fee for the AACE Annual Meeting, please see the appropriate registration form in the back of this program for full details. Please note, there are separate registration forms for physicians (MD and DO) and allied health professionals (AHP).

Spouses or guests of attendees are allowed to attend scientific sessions only if space is available, but are not permitted to attend luncheons. They are invited to attend the Spouse/Guest Breakfasts and the ACE Convocation. Spouses and guests are also welcome to attend the President’s Gala Cocktail Buffet; however, tickets are required and must be purchased in advance. Please see section D of the registration form to purchase tickets.

Pharmaceutical representatives whose companies are represented in the Exhibit Hall cannot officially register for a session but can attend if space is available. Product materials cannot be displayed in meeting rooms, and distribution of product information during meetings is strictly prohibited.

registrationThere are three ways to submit your registration form: Online (Secure Site), mail, or fax. Please do not send your form more than once. If a form is received in duplicate, it may slow the process of the registration and the fee may be billed twice. If you have any questions about your registration, please contact QMS directly at 678-341-3074.

To register online go to am.aace.com. To mail or fax your registration form, please complete the appropriate registration form in the back of this program and return it to QMS Services, Inc., 6840 Meadowridge Court, Alpharetta, GA 30005. Credit card registrations can be faxed to 1-678-341-3099. Completed registration forms must be accompanied by a check or credit card payment. Advanced registrations must be postmarked by March 9, to receive the discounted rate.

If changes need to be made to your registration form (after it has been processed by QMS) you can go online to am.aace.com to make all changes. This includes added/switching workshops, MTE sessions, satellites, etc.

If your registration cannot be postmarked by April 4, please bring your completed form and register on-site. Registration opens

Registration information . . .

Wednesday, April 13, at 9:00 am on the upper level of the San Diego Convention Center. To avoid duplicate charges, DO NOT mail or fax your form if you plan to register on-site. Attendees will receive their name badge, which includes the bar code necessary to receive CME credit, meeting bags and other information.

cancellations/refunds/no ShowsCancellations must be received in writing in the AACE office prior to March 16, 2011, in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations received March 16 -March 23 will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. Cancellations received after March 23 will not be refunded as material for each meeting registrant has already been prepared and packed for San Diego at that time. No refunds will be issued for no-shows except in the case of extreme extenuating circumstances. The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists reserves the right to cancel this program, in whole or in part, based on enrollment or conditions beyond our control and is not responsible for any personal costs incurred, such as airline or hotel penalties. All refunds will be processed within 30 days after the meeting.

cme creditThe American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™

How to receive cme creditThe on-site CME Station will open beginning on Wednesday, April 13. You will scan the bar-coded portion of your name badge and type in the four-digit code for each session attended to generate a printed CME letter which includes the meeting dates and the total number of CME hours that you have earned. Don’t want to stand in line? You can claim your CME credits online starting, Wednesday, April 20. See the flyer in your registration folder for full details.

aace policy on Disclosure and resolution of Conflict of InterestIt is the policy of AACE that all CME planning committees, faculty, authors and editors disclose relationships with commercial interests upon nomination or invitation of participation. Disclosure information is reviewed for potential conflicts of interest and, if identified, they are resolved prior to the start of the educational activity. Only those participants who had no conflict of interest or who agreed to an identified resolution process prior to their participation were involved in this CME activity.

DisclaimerThe material presented during AACE scientific sessions is being made available by AACE for educational purposes only, and does not necessarily represent the only or best method or procedure appropriate for the medical situations discussed. Although AACE has peer reviewed the presentations, the opinions and views expressed represent the opinions of the presenters and not necessarily those of AACE or its governing body. Therefore, AACE disclaims any and all liability for injury or other damages resulting to an individual attending this meeting or to any third party for claims based upon the use of techniques and/or products presented by any party at this meeting.

workshop and meet the expert registrationAn excellent variety of Workshop and Meet the Expert (MTE) topics are offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please see the registration form for complete listings.

All Workshops and MTEs run concurrently during each time slot so it is only possible to register for one during each session. Be sure to indicate your top choice for each session on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Registration for each Workshop and MTE is limited. While tickets are not issued for these sessions, seating is first come, first served, so advance registration is imperative to ensure that appropriate meeting space is selected to accommodate attendees. Additionally, city codes and fire regulations restrict the maximum occupancy in each session room. Your advance registration for these sessions is greatly appreciated to assist in meeting these important planning needs.

Changes in your workshop and/or MTE selections can be made prior to the meeting by going online to am.aace.com or contacting QMS at 678-341-3074.

Satellite Symposia registrationAdvance registration is required for the scheduled satellite symposia. As with the Workshops and MTE sessions, this is necessary to ensure that appropriate meeting space and materials are provided to accommodate each symposium. Tickets will not be issued and seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Satellite symposia registration will open shortly and notification will be sent to all registered attendees. All individuals who have already registered for the Annual Meeting will be able to log on to am.aace.com to

add their satellite symposia selections to their existing meeting registration. Additionally, all AACE members will be sent individual brochures for each satellite symposium with specific session information, faculty listing and credit designation. All brochures will also include information on how to add that satellite symposium to an existing Annual Meeting registration.

advance registration for meal FunctionsAACE must provide a guaranteed number of people for each meal function in advance and is required to pay for that number. AACE only guarantees for the number of people who specifically register for each meal in advance. In section D of enclosed registration form, please indicate each food function you will attend, as it may not be possible to register (due to seating and food limitations) for the function when you arrive at the meeting. Tickets will be required for these events. If you have a special request, kosher or vegetarian meal, please indicate this on the registration form. AACE will make every effort to fulfill your dietary request. However, we cannot guarantee your request will be available at all times. Please note the functions that are not open to spouses or guests.

college Fellow candidates materialMaterial and instructions for College Fellow Candidates being inducted at the Convocation on Saturday evening will be distributed at the AACE Registration Desk beginning at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 13. Approved applicants for Fellowship will receive detailed information in a separate mailing.

conference recordingsIntelliQuest Media, Inc. will offer audio recordings of general sessions, workshops and satellite symposia. Recordings are available on DVD-ROM. Order forms will be included in attendees’ registration packets, and company representatives will be on hand to accept orders near the AACE Registration Desk on the upper level of the San Diego Convention Center. On-site discounts are available, and attendees who order the complete set of recordings will receive a free storage case. To purchase recordings after the meeting, visit www.intelliquestmedia.com.
