They will host No. 9 Hartwick and No. 13 Cal State Northridge this weekend. The biggest mover this week in the national poll was LMU, who in their first action of the season, won the UC San Diego Triton Invitational and moved to No. 7 in the national poll. They too have a huge match-up, traveling to No. 2 USC on Saturday. This weekend will also feature six match-ups between fellow WWPA foes, starting with Colorado State at CSUB. Other match-ups include The Rams taking on Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay at CSUB, Colora- do State and CSUEB in a neutral match-up, CSUMB at CSUB and CSUEB against Santa Clara. There have been some big performances this past week. Santa Clara fresh- man Allison Norris came off the bench to score six goals with four assists, four steals in a conference win over Cal State Monterey Bay and a non-con- ference win over Fresno Pacific. Cal State Bakersfield senior Becky Seelos has the Roadrunners back in the top-20 against this season as she scored six goals to help CSUB place eighth at the UCSD Invite. Cal State Monterey Bay’s sophomore Katie Sowul exploded for 13 goals on the weekend, leading the Otters to a 2-1 record with wins over Fresno Pacific and Cal State East Bay. However, Player of the Week honors for Feb. 10 goes to LMU’s sophomore Kimberly Benedetti, who helped LMU back within the top-10 with three wins over ranked opponents and the tournament title at the UCSD Triton Invite. Benedetti finished the weekend leading the Lions with 11 goals, including four against No. 15 UC Davis. She finished with a 78.6 shooting per- centage and added four kickouts and an assist as LMU starts the season 4-0. Heading into week No. 4 of the 2010 water polo sea-son, the Roadrunner Invitational this weekend, Feb. 12-14, will provide most of the action in the com-

ing week’s schedule, including a park of top-20 match-ups for Cal State Bakersfield, who is ranked 17th in the latest national poll. They will host No. 9 Hartwick and No. 13 Cal

State Northridge this weekend. The biggest mover this week in the national poll was LMU, who in their first action of the season, won the UC San Diego Triton Invitational and moved to No. 7 in the national poll. They too have a huge match-up, traveling to No. 2 USC on Saturday.

CAL STATe eAST BAy:2010 CAL STATe eAST BAy WoMeN’S WATeR PoLo PReVieWThe 2010 spring season will mark the first in Division II for the Cal State East Bay women’s water polo team. Though the team will face many of its familiar opponents, Head Coach Lisa De Rossi-Cooper and the Pioneers now have the distinct advantage of athletic scholarships to attract recruits from both near and far. With a core group of returners from the 2009 team and a strong group of new faces to bolster the roster, Cal State East Bay looks poised to make a mark in 2010.
