Murray Studio Theater One of the most explosive movie musicals to burst onto the live stage, Footloose is the story of a young boy, Ren, who moves with his mother from Chicago to a small farming town where he faces numerous changes to his city lifestyle, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise control over the town's youth. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar®- and Tony®-nominated top 40 score and supplemented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people and guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind. Director: Jared O’Roark; Music Director: Emi Stefanov

THE NOT-SO-SCARY MONSTER PETTING ZOO, ages 5–7 What better way is there to tame the creatures of our imaginations than to see them as what they are… cuddly pets! And all monsters like you to scratch them behind their ears, once they get to know you!

CASEY AT THE BAT, ages 5–7 This week we celebrate America’s favorite pastime with our own version of the classic “Mudville” poem. Want to know if home-run slugger Casey strikes out? You’ll decide! The week includes a visit from Raymond, our favorite team mascot from the Tampa Bay Rays, and tickets to a Rays game.

IF I RAN THE CIRCUS, ages 5–7What would your Circus McGurkus look like? Would you have a Drum-Tummied Snumm, a Fluff-Muffled Truffle, a Spotted Atrocious, a Trapeze Troupe, or Tournament Knights? What about a 500-gallon lemonade dispenser? It’s your own three-ring circus of fun.

MERMAIDS AND MARTIANS, ages 5–7When the Martians take a wrong turn, they are hopelessly lost on a strange planet – Earth! Can the mermaids help them find their way home? Guys, sometimes you just have to ask for directions.

PRINCESSES AND FROGS, ages 5–7 Sometimes (if you are a clever princess and not afraid of frogs) you might find a prince where you would least expect! And sometimes, you will just find a frog. With inspiration from Disney, of course, we create a fairy tale original.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, ages 8–10No matter what your age, there’s a little bit of a wild thing in most of us. And sometimes, those wild things can get us into trouble. What does your wild side look like and where does it live when it isn’t with you? Come with us on a week-long visit to where the wild things are.

UNICORNS AND DRAGONS: FACT OR FICTION?, ages 8–10Hello, Magical Creature Investigation Service? We wish to report a strange creature. Please send your best investigators quickly before it’s too late! Better bring a stun gun, a large net, some strong rope and some chocolate cupcakes. We’ll explain when you get here!

THE LORAX, ages 8–10 The poor Bar-ba-loots are getting the crummies because they have no food in their tummies! Dr. Seuss had a funny way of saying everything in rhyme. But not everything he wrote was nonsense. In the clever verse of The Lorax, Seuss shows us that it’s important to be good caretakers of the land we call home. You don’t need to be a tree-hugger to love this camp–just a conscientious camper.

GREAT MOMENTS IN BASEBALL HISTORY (NOT!), ages 8–10From the first pitch to the last out of this camp, we will conjure up the most fantastic, never-before-heard-of (and never really happened) historical (and hysterical) events of our favorite sport. Add a visit by our favorite team mascot, Raymond, and tickets to a Rays game, and you have the makings of a favorite summer camp experience.

Maybe it was cell phone interference. Maybe it was sun spots. But WHO IS GOING TO CLEAN UP THAT MESS? Even Harry Potter can’t help you now.

FRACTURED FAIRY TALES, ages 5–7When Little Red Riding Hood finds the Seven Dwarfs having a party at Grandma’s house, she teaches them how to dance. Unfortunately, Rumpelstiltskin isn’t happy, because he wasn’t invited. The Dwarfs eat some bad apples and fall asleep. When the Wolf shows up, Red and Grandma climb a giant bean stalk to get away - or something like that. And, of course, everyone lives happily ever after – except Jack.

STAND TALL, ages 5–7We all know that it’s not nice to make fun of people. We also know that we have to stand tall (even if we are aren’t tall) to show the people around us that we are proud of who we are. This week is about making our new camp friends feel special.

LISTEN TO THE WIND, ages 5–7 The children of Korphe live in the mountains of Pakistan. They make up their own games and make their own toys. Before they helped build their own school, they had class outdoors and wrote on the ground with sticks. This week, our campers learn about the “greater good” of helping other kids who are less fortunate.

THE ZOMBIE PROJECT, ages 8–10 Halloween in August? Why not!? In preparation for bringing together a community Halloween experience to be presented (more appropriately) in October, we are starting now to create a spook-tacular treat. Try your hand at scary makeup, bad hair, terrifying howls and, of course, Oscar®-winning creepiness.

THE LIGHTNING THIEF, ages 8–10A lot of fun starts with “what if…?” Like, what if you were a descendent of a Greek god and you didn’t even know it? What if you discovered you had special powers? What if you had to find a stolen object and return it before the world was destroyed? This week we learn a lot about Greek myths and a little about New York City. Rated G for Great stuff!

CHANGING THE WORLD, ages 8–10Every day, regular kids are finding ways to change the world by standing up for themselves, protecting the environment, overcoming challenges and helping others. Learn about young heroes and become one yourself in this week that showcases ways to do good deeds!
