Abou. C°'mp Tecu.msek Camp Tecumseh is owned and operated by The Salvation Army. Established in 1964, this residential camp sits on 400 beautiful acres in western New Jersey. We strive to serve the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of campers, staff and visitors in the context of the Word of God and the love of Christ.

Ou.r Mtssto\t\ The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

S°'fe/F°'ctlttes Camp Tecumseh is accredited by the American Camp Association and is assessed every three years in over 300 different safety standards. Standards include safety, program integrity, food service, aquatics, personnel and management. Camp Tecumseh is also a member of the Christian Camping Association.

Fully qualified health professionals are available 24 hours a day to all campers and staff in the event of an emergency. All camper medication is held at the Health Center and administered to campers by nurses only.

The pool and lakefront are operated by fully certified lifeguards. Many of our staff are also certified in First Aid and CPR.

S<Aff Approximately 90 staff members are hired at Camp Tecumseh. Mandatory to each staff member's application are multiple references, thorough background checks as well as a personal interview. Staff are hired from all parts of the world and the United States. They are carefully selected for their Christian walk, maturity, enthusiasm, experience, compassion, love for children and dedication.

One week of intensive orientation is mandated for every staff member prior to the arrival of campers. Our staff receives training in effective leadership, behavior management, emergency procedures, health practices and child development.
