Many hybrid vehicles come with hybrid air conditioning compressors which are belt driven by the vehicle’sengine when it is running, or turned by a small electric motor when the vehicle is in idle-stop (the gasolinepowered engine shuts off at a stoplight or in stop-and-go traffic). Other hybrid vehicles have entirely electric-driven A/C compressors which do not rely on being belt-driven by the gasoline engine.

Whether “electric-only” or “belt and electric” these compressors have a bright orange 3-phase high-voltage cable connected to them & must use an oil with high dielectric properties or high “resistivity” tocurrent leakage to help prevent shock hazards.

Supercool Air Conditioning Leak Stops do not Contain Polymers

Supercool A/C Leak Stops are specifically formulated without polymers.This is important because polymers react with air and moisture in the airconditioning system to form a solid epoxy-like seal at the site of the leak.

Unfortunately polymeric leak stops can also react with air and moisture inair conditioning systems and recovery equipment far from the site of a leak.This has the potential to cause undesirable, costly and catastrophic block-age in critical components such as the orifice tube in an A/C system or thesolenoids in A/C recovery equipment. Normal seepage of the polymericleak stops at the compressor seal may also result in erosion of the com-pressor seal from the outside-in causing a leak where none existed before.

These risks are not present with Supercool polymer-free A/C leak stop.Supercool Total A/C Leak Stop is very effective at stopping small leaks that meet the following criteria:

• Vacuum A/C system for 5 minutes. If you can reach a 25 pound vacuum within 5 minutesand hold above 23 pounds for 5 minutes Total A/C Leak Stop should repair the leak. In some cases when the vacuum cannot be reached there may be an equal area ofsmaller holes that Total A/C Leak Stop can repair.

• When leaks are too large for Supercool Total A/C Leak Stop to repair, the defective A/C system component or components should be located andreplaced.

Easy to use in Flush Machines:

1) Fill Flush Machine reservoir with Supercool Equipment Flush (or pre-Treatment).

2) Detach any filters or screens from system.3) Connect Inlet and Outlet ports together and run machine until contaminants are flushed from system (for

Pre-Treatment, run machine until solution has been thoroughly circulated through all components of the machine).4) Disconnect Inlet/Outlet port connection and remove flush (or Pre-Treatment) from flush machine reservoir.

Note: Supercool Equipment Flush and Pre-Treatment will mix with refrigerants and compressor lubricants.

Easy to use in Recovery / Recycle Machines:

1) Detach refrigerant cylinder from system – leave coupling open to atmosphere2) Detach any filters or screens from system. 3) Place 4 to 6 ounces of Equipment Flush (or Pre-Treatment) in the reservoir of Supercool Flow Control Flush

Gun (part #24-1497) or similar tool.4) Disconnect vacuum pump (do not flush through the vacuum pump as liquids are not compressible and can

damage the vacuum pump). Slowly release solution into the system. Hold start recovery button down allowingsolenoid valves to open. Note: This must be done very slowly so that only a fine mist enters the equipment & not a liquid stream. Typically there are several solenoids and gate valves and it is important that the equipmentflush or Pre-treatment flow thru the solenoids and gate valves to free them of contaminants or coat them withsolution.

5) Cycle the system with shop air thru the flow control flush gun as flush is being released. Continue this processuntil all lines, solenoids and valves are clear of contaminants (or are thoroughly coated with Pre-Treatment).

6) Repeat if necessary for heavily contaminated systems.7) Remove excess flush/Pre-Treatment from reservoir. Re-connect vacuum pump and attach filters and/or screens.

Why is Moisture Resistance Important in PAG Oils?It’s all about the molecular structure of the oil. Ordinary PAG is formulated with only one end of the mainmolecular chain capped. Supercool PAG oil is formulated with both ends capped. The benefit of this isordinary open-ended PAG is chemically active which contributes to the hygroscopy (water absorptioncapability) and thermal breakdown of the oil. Supercool’s technologically advanced formula PAGremains chemically inactive, or more hydrolytically stable, which allows it to be very tolerant of moistureeven at high temperatures and will not react to form harmful acids in the A/C system.

A/C Systems are divided into a High side and a Low side. In an orifice tube system the high sidebegins at the compressor, continues through the condenser, and ends at the orifice tube. The low side beginswhere the high side ended -- at the orifice tube. From there it continues through the evaporator, through theaccumulator, and again ends at the compressor.

Atmospheric Pressure measures around 759,968 microns. The closer one gets to 0 microns the deeper the vacu-um one can achieve. A 15 micron vacuum pump is more efficient at removing moisture from an A/C system than a100 micron vacuum pump is. The quicker the pressure in the A/C system can be dropped under vacuum, the quick-er water can change its state from liquid to vapor. It is this water vapor which the vacuum pump removes to dehy-drate an A/C system before a technician will recharge the system with refrigerant.

A/C Hose available byBox or Reel (R)

1) Cut the hose to required length with Hose Cutter (Part # VF32). The cut must bemade perpendicular to the hose length; the resulting cut must be square at the end.

2) Place two proper-sized clips into the clipholder. For ease of assembly both clips should have the same orientation.

3) Place the clipholder with the two clips on the hose. The side with the smallest holetouches the end of the hose.

4) Lubricate the fitting with a generous amount of the A/C system’s lubricant to make inserting the fitting easier.

5) Insert the fitting into the hose. Ensure that the fitting is fully inserted by checking thegap between the end of the hose and the shoulder of the fitting. The fitting must fittight to the end of the square-cut hose.

6) Begin with the clip closest to the end of the hose, thenclose both clips with the Clip Pliers (Part # 18543).The pliers open themselves when the appropriateforce has been applied.

7) Your durable hose fitting connection is complete.

1) Only new merchandise in factory fresh condition will be considered for return pending approval by TSI/Supercool. Upon approval you will be issued a Returned Good Authorization (RGA) number which must appear on all returned cartons and corresponding packing list(s). All returns are subject to a 10% restocking charge. Merchandise must be returned to TSI Freight Pre-paid within 30days of issuance of an RGA number. Credit for returned merchandise will be issued at the acquisitionprice minus fees listed above.

TSI/Supercool warrants the products it offers to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under nor-mal use and service for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of shipment.

TSI/Supercool reserves the option to replace any defective product(s) or issue credit at the original sale priceonly.
