TOURNAMENT PLAY COMMENCES @ McLean Little League Complex
TOURNAMENT REQUIREMENTS
Each manager is required to bring the following documents to the tournament as per State Standards:
Affidavit, Approved Waivers, Tournament Player Verification Documents, Medical releases, Concussion
Training Certificate and your League boundary map. This is required for your team to participate in the
tournament. Please bring your Championship District flag with you.
Concussion Trainings is mandatory for ALL Mangers and Coaches. If you have not completed this
training here is the link to the VHSL site. http://www.vhsl.org/doc/upload/smac-concussion-course-
instructions.pdf. If not completed, you will not be allowed on the field with your team.
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place in the boardroom, at the McLean LL Complex. All teams must be registered
by 4:00pm, Thursday, July 13, 2017. Please let us know where your team is staying. Due to the limited
space ADULTS only upstairs in the boardroom for registration.
HOSTS
Each team will be assigned a Host Family who will be available to you during your stay to answer
questions, give directions, and help make your stay an enjoyable one.
UMPIRES
All tournament umpires should check in with the UIC at the Westin Hotel (7801 Leesburg Pike Falls
Church, VA 22043) before 2:30 p.m. on July 13, 2017. Those umpiring coming from out of town will be
assigned their rooms at that time. Following check-in, a short umpires meeting will be held at the
tournament site, the McLean Little League complex, to discuss mechanics, rules, game assignments, etc.,
and to check out the tournament fields.
Umpires will be introduced at the opening ceremony which starts at 5:30 p.m. at McLean High School
and they can then attend the picnic at the school. Following the picnic, umpires may attend the
mandatory tournament meeting (McLean LL Complex; will let umpires know at check-in).

FIELD FACILITIES – McLean LL Complex
Tournament games will begin on Friday, July 14, at TBD, at McLean Little League Complex in McLean,
Virginia. Games will be played on Fields 2 & 3 (both are grass infields). There is a concession stand and
restrooms available. Handicap Accessible. Practice fields will be scheduled at the Managers Meeting.
POLICIES AT McLean LL Complex
The McLean Little League Board of Directors would like everyone who visits our Park to have a safe and
enjoyable experience. Based on that premise the following rules will be enforced.

Please help assure us that everyone has a good time during the tournament by adhering to the rules at
McLean LL. We appreciate your support.
DISTRICT 4 TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES
Virginia District 4 has a well established set of tournament procedures. These are available on the
website (www.eteamz.com/VA4) and will also be provided during the mandatory managers, coaches and
umpires meeting. Please no disruptive cheers from the parents. Please get hooked on phonics – a list of
your players with a phonetic spelling will be very useful for the announcers. We will have a coin flip to
determine home or away 45-minutes prior to the start of each game. Home team is always assigned the
first base dugout. At 30-minutes prior to game time, Visitors will get 10-minutes of infield. At 20
minutes the home team will get 10-minutes. At 10 minutes prior to game time we will clean the field and
announce the players, coaches, manager and any team representative (President, Board member, Team
parent etc.)
EQUIPMENT
Each team will furnish their own equipment. McLean Little League will cooperate in case of an
emergency. For any needs that you may have, there are several sporting goods stores in the area. Your
team host can provide you that information. Please note: Decals of any kind are not permitted on batting
helmets unless provided by the helmet manufacturer. Umpires will inspect all equipment prior to each
game.
PRACTICE FIELDS
Practice fields will be available at nearby fields.
Practice times will be given out at the Manager’s Meeting.
PARKING
Parking is available at the park and on the side streets. Please be respectful of our neighbors.
Handicapped parking will be available at the park. All games will be at McLean LL Complex.
Please DO NOT park next door at the Kent Garden Pool.
SEATING AND CONCESSIONS
Bleacher seating is available at all fields. There is also ample room for lawn chairs at each field.
Concessions will be available throughout the tournament.
GAME SCHEDULE
The tournament will begin on Friday, 14 July. In the event of rain or rain delay, the games will be
rescheduled by the Tournament Director.
All games will be played at McLean LL Complex, home of McLean Little League. Games will be played
on fields 2 & 3 (both are grass infields). Field 2 has lights.

team representatives will be allowed in the dugouts or on the fields. Photography or filming is allowed

A sign-up for team pictures will be at the registration table. An opportunity for parents to take pictures at that
time will be made available.
