FASTNET
Proposed Historical Event Analyses:June 25 – July 10, 2002
During the two week period June 25-July 10, several natural and manmade aerosol events occurred:
- Manitoba smoke drifted to the Midwest and the Northeast- Colorado smoke covered several states- Sahara dust incursion to the Midwest caused 20 ug/m3 dust- Sulfate episode covered the Ohio River Valley- Quebec smoke caused record PM2.5 concentrations in the Northeast
Thus a focused analysis of this two week period would include three smoke events, a dust event and a sulfate event. More importantly, analysis of the period would elucidate the interaction among these events.
