It is time to take pride in the Museum we have created, theonly repository in our town that is dedicated to preserving,presenting and interpreting local history. As we look back 20 years, we reflect on theaccomplishments of our vision of a community resource topreserve information, artifacts and memories and toeducate the public. It will be an evening to thank our supporters, ourvolunteers, and the community leaders who have made itpossible and to look forward to the future. Come and celebrate this “volunteer success story” thatyour support has nurtured.

20 th Anniversary Events in 2004 February 10 - Annual Meeting; Speaker to be announced

May 1 - Spring Tea

May 31- Memorial Day Parade; Museum Marching Unit

September 2004 - 20th Anniversary Dinner

Our exhibit weekend includes a members 2nd annual pre-sale of crafts and quilted items on Friday, December 5th

from 1 – 4pm and a member/guest preview on Fridayevening December 5 from 7 to 9 pm. Mrs. Trudy Wolfe-Larkin’s Enrichment Class from our Intermediate Schoolare hard at work preparing entertainment for that evening.Crafts will be available for sale, the model trains will beup and running, raffle tickets will be available, andrefreshments will be served. On Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, the exhibitwill be open to the public. Our Museum rooms will beopen and the Woolley House Model will be on display.Help is needed from all members during the exhibit.Needed are: finger foods for Friday evening, goodies forour sale on Saturday and Sunday, members to man theentrance, sales, and raffle tables, and docents to show

visitors around the Museum and to answer questions. Please volunteer … call the museum at 732-531-2136 orGinny Richmond at 732-531-4295.

RAFFLE SALES

A BIG THANK YOU to those who have sold somany raffle tickets and to those who have faithfullyreturned their sold raffle stubs and money.

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET RETURNED YOUR TICKET STUBS AND MONEY, PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE ARE HOPING TO SELL ALL 3500 TICKETS. YOUR COOPERATION IS IMPORTANT AND APPRECIATED. IF YOU CAN SELL MORE BOOKS, CALL BETTY AT 732-229-7687 OR STOP IN AT THE MUSEUM ON ANY TUESDAY, 1-4 PM.

Some of our members have participated in our raffle ticket sales at the West Long Branch ShopRite, Foodtown in Middlebrook, Foodtown in Wanamassa, and Foodtown in West End. We will be selling at the ShopRite in Neptune on Oct 24 and 25, the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Craft Show at the Deal Rd. firehouse on Nov 8, the Monmouth Co Library in Manalapin at Archives Day on Oct 18, and Boscovs on Nov 14 and 15.

CRUISE FOLLOW-UP

Thanks to all our supporters for a very successfulLuncheon Cruise aboard the River Queenon September 7th. We “sold-out” 10 days prior to thecruise and 102 people (about half werenot Museum members) enjoyed the perfect weather,

the lovely scenery and the pleasant company. Over$1500 was raised for the restoration of the WoolleyHouse on the ticket sales, the Chinese Auction andthe 50/50. The gifts for the auction were generouslydonated by businesses in our community: Attilio’sPizza, Beauty Street, Brennan’s, Buy-Rite Liquors,Cheers to You, Cookies by Design, Dairy Queen,Foodtown, Great American Flower Mart, Grossman’sDeli, Ideal Lumber, Kelly’s Hallmark, ManhattanSteak House, Marquis Flowers, Middlebrook Spirits,Mike and Nellies, Mimi’s Gourmet, Monmouth BottleShop, Oakhurst Flowers, Oakhurst Pizza, OceanFlower and Gifts, Parkhill’s, Sunset Farms, SunsetFlorist and Wanamassa Liquors. Special thanks to:Paul Edelson and Ed DeNoble for running the 50/50and congratulations to Ann Stiles the winner; KatyDorsett for the handmade baby afghan and sweater;and Marge Edelson for the lap quilt; and to our FundRaising Committee: Marge Edelson, Lesley Dorsett,Katy Dorsett, Lois Landis, Kay Zimmerer and JoalLeone.
