Seven tables are included: Employed – By Place of Work, Employed – By Place of Residence, Commuting to Work – Mode of Transportation, Mean Travel Time to Work, Vehicle Availability, Population by Specified Age Groups, and Commuting Patters – Rhode Island Workers by Place of Residence and Place of Work.

  • PREFACE The purpose of this paper is to make available 2000 census data for use in transportation planning for Rhode Island. This paper was prepared by Mark G. Brown, Principal Planner, under the supervision of Katherine Trapani, Supervising Planner, and John O’Brien, Chief, Statewide Planning Program. Kim A. Gelfuso, Information Services Technician II prepared the document for internet access. This activity was carried out under Task 2701 (Transportation Plan) in the FY 2004 Work Program of the Statewide Planning Program. Federal funding support was provided by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
