When we planted in 2003, the area was devoid of vegetation and a thick jute matting was installed to stabilize the bank and hold the soil in place. Friends of Trees planted in and around the jute matting with bare root and live stake plants. Many of those plants are now the trees we see that are 12 feet or more in height! - Logan Lauvray, Green Space Manager
