INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL

SCHOLARSHIP

The Conroe ISD Education Foundation (“CEF”) is proud to provide scholarships to Bilingual and Special

Education Instructional Paraprofessionals who seek to further their careers by earning an undergraduate

degree. All Bilingual or Special Education Instructional Paraprofessionals employed by Conroe ISD who are

interested in achieving an educational undergraduate degree are considered potential recipients. (Certifications

do not qualify for CEF scholarships.)

TO APPLY:

The Application Form for Bilingual and Special Education Instructional Paraprofessionals Scholarship

is available through Conroe ISD administration during each Spring semester. This year, the deadline to

submit an Application Packet to the Conroe ISD Human Resources Department is March 13, 2020. The Application Form requires basic personal information and will become the cover page of the Application

Packet. In addition, the Application Packet must include the following:

• Paraprofessional’s history or resume, including high school attended and any college courses completed.

• Description of the undergraduate degree sought, the institution at which the degree will be sought, and the

proposed dates of attendance. (See Statement Form)

• Brief statement indicating personal goals as an educator and how this scholarship will help achieve such

goals. (See Statement Form)

• Brief statement indicating the benefit this undergraduate degree will provide to Conroe ISD. (See StatementForm)

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

The CEF selects Bilingual and Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional Scholarship

recipients annually, and awards each recipient a monetary scholarship to be applied toward tuition, fees,

books, and other qualified expenses. CEF scholarships are awarded each May and are valid for one year.

Bilingual and Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional Scholarship awards are normally in the

amount of $1,000.00 each, but may vary. Acceptance of the Bilingual and Special Education

Instructional Paraprofessional

Scholarship may affect any FASFA aid. All scholarship recipients must remain a Conroe ISD employee during the duration of the scholarship term.
