PMIS vs. HPMS

Pavement Management Information System (PMIS) is an automated system for storing, retrieving, analyzing, and reporting pavement condition information. TxDOT PMIS contains pavement data for all roadbeds (one lane per direction)

Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) is a national level highway information system that includes data on the extent, condition, performance, use and operating characteristics of the nation’s highways. FHWA requires distresses and ride to be reported only on the center lane with all bridge locations removed. (one lane per roadway)
