4. JURY OF THE FESTIVAL-COMPETITION

4.1 For evaluating the performances of participants within the Festival-

Competition the jury is to be formed.

4.2 The jury consists of professional musicians from leading educational

institutions of Russia and foreign countries.

4.3 The jury nominates the winners in all nominations and age-groups.

4.4 The decisions of the jury are final and without appeal.

4.5 The members of the jury of the Festival-Competition:

• Pavel Steidl (the Czech Republic) – Chairman of the jury, International

competitions laureate, Professor of the Prague conservatory;

• Yuri Yefimovich Gurevitch (Nizhny Novgorod) – Rector of the Nizhny

Novgorod State M.I. Glinka Conservatory, International competitions

laureate, Professor;

• Sergei Ivanovich Rudnev (Tula) – performing guitarist, composer,

orchestrator;

• Dmitry Alekseyevich Murin (Moscow) – Associate Professor of the

Department of string folk instruments of Gnessins Russian Academy of

Music, International competitions laureate;

• Roman Aleksandrovich Zorkin (Moscow) – soloist of Moscow Philarmonic,

Lecturer of Gnessins State Musical College at Gnessins Russian Academy

of Music, International competitions laureate;

5. LOCATION AND DATES OF HOLDING THE FESTIVAL-

COMPETITION

The Festival-Competition is held at the premises of the Nizhny Novgorod

state M. I. Glinka Conservatory (Nizhny Novgorod region. 40, Piskunov Street,

Nizhny Novgorod) and Children’s Art School № 8 named after V. Yu. Villuan

(Nizhny Novgorod region. 5, Varvarskaya Street, Nizhny Novgorod).

The duration of the Festival-Competition is from April 13 to 18. 2021.

6. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION AND ARRANGEMENTS

FOR HOLDING THE FESTIVAL-COMPETITION

Participants who can take part in the Festival-Competition include musicians from

Russia, former Soviet Republics and abroad – pupils of Children’s music schools,

Children’s art schools, students of Musical colleges as well as pupils of Children’s

musical artistic unions.

The Competition is held on-site for participants of all age-groups from the

Russian Federation.

For foreign citizens, including those from former Soviet Republics of “A”,

“B”, “C”, “E” age-groups participation is organized distantly by providing a

video record with the performance to the Organising Committee.

Participation in “D” age-group is conducted strictly on-site. Performances of

citizens from abroad including those from former Soviet Republics in “D”

age-group is not allowed, following the restrictions introduced due to the threat of

spreading the new Covid-19 infection.

6.6 The following documents are to be sent till March 19, 2021 to the e-mail

address: [email protected] :

• the application in the required format (see Appendix to the Regulations

–signed and scanned into PDF format);

• a scan-copy of the birth certificate or the passport of a participant;

• a digital photo of a participant (JPG);

• a short artistic characterization (listing the titles and awards);

• for participants from the Russian Federation, having medical

contraindications for on-site participation – a scan-copy of the medical

certificate indicating the diagnosis included in the risk group due to the

threat of spreading the new Covid-19 infection.

Important! For those participants, who take part in the Festival-Competition in the

distant form, the dates of providing video records and the requirements for

recording videos will be sent further to the e-mail address after submitting the

application.

6.7 Submission of an application form to the Organising Committee confirms the

agreement with the conditions of holding the present Festival-Competition.

6.8 Applications violating the Regulations or submitted after the due date for

applications has expired will not be considered by the Organising Committee.

6.9 All expenses for the participants and accompanying persons (travelling,

accommodation and other expenses) are to be covered by the organizations which

sent them.

6.10 Competitive auditions in age groups “A”, “B”, “C”, “E” consist of one round.

6.11 Competitive auditions in age-group “D” consist of three rounds (on-site

participation only, see para 6.4 of Regulations).

6.12 The order of appearances in all age-groups is determined by drawing, which is

organized at registration of the participants of the Festival-Competition and is

relevant till the end of competitive auditions.

6.13 Auditions are held with the observance of all measures of sanitary and

epidemiological safety, introduced by the Decree of the Governor of the Nizhny

Novgorod region, the Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer

Rights and internal local acts of institutions at whose premises the performances of

participants take place.

6.14 All music pieces are to be performed by heart. Replacement of pieces listed in

the application is not allowed.

6.15 Participants will be provided classes for acoustic rehearsals according to the

timetable.

6.16. The entry fee for age-groups “A”, “B”, “C” is 2000 roubles per person; in

age-group “E” – 2500 roubles per person; in age-group “D” – 3000 roubles per

person.

6.17Disabled participants from all age-groups, disabled children of groups I and II,

orphans and legally free children can be provided a 50% discount from the initial

entry fee (see para 6.12 of the Regulations), in case they produce a confirmation

document.

6.18 The entry fee is paid on the day of arrival before registration and is to be

transferred to the bank account of the Association:

Legal entities must send to the Organising Committee their invoice details

for receiving the services agreement.

6.19 In case the participant refuses to take part in the Festival-Competition, their

documents and the entry fee are not given back.

6.20 The Festival program involves concerts of the jury members and special

guests of the Festival-Competition.

6.21 Within the Festival program there will be organized master-classes of the jury

members.

7. AGE-GROUPS OF THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE FESTIVAL-

COMPETITION

7.1 The Organising Committee of the Festival-Competition specifies the following

age-groups for participants:

• “A” group (junior) – aged up to 12 years old inclusively (as on

13.04.2021);

• “B” group (medium) - aged up to 14 years old inclusively (as on

13.04.2021);

• “C” group (senior) - aged up to 16 years old inclusively (as on 13.04.2021).

Attention! Students of musical colleges are not allowed to participate in

group “C”;

• “D” group (professional) – without age restrictions(as on 13.04.2021);

• “E” group – students of musical colleges.

8. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE

FESTIVAL-COMPETITION

8.1 For participants of “A” age-group:

• Free program consisting of works by Russian composers (it is possible to

perform arrangements and adaptations of folk music). The timing must not

be longer than 10 minutes in total.

8.2 For participants of “B” age-group:

• Free program consisting of works by Russian composers (it is possible to

perform arrangements and adaptations of folk music). The timing must not

be longer than 10 minutes in total.

8.3 For participants of “C” age-group:

• Free program consisting of works by composers from a native country (it is

possible to perform arrangements and adaptations of folk music). The

timing must not be longer than 12 minutes in total.

8.4 For participants of “E” age-group:

• Free program consisting of works by composers from a native country, as

well as obligatory inclusion of works by Russian seven-string guitar players

of the XIX century (it is possible to perform arrangements and adaptations

of folk music). The timing must not be longer than 15 minutes in total.

8.5 For participants of “D” age-group (three performing rounds):

• 1 round: Free program, with obligatory inclusion of works by F. Sor, as

well as a work by A. Sichra and/or M. Vysotsky at the participant’s choice.

For those participants who play the seven-string guitar, the inclusion of F.

Sor’s compositions is not necessary The timing must not be longer than

15 minutes in total.

• II round: The program includes:

1) not fewer than two works (original pieces or adaptations) of the following

XIX century composers: A. Vetrov, I. Lyakhov, V. Sarenko, S. Aksyonov,

V. Morkov, N. Aleksandrov, F. Zimmerman;

• 2) the work by one of the composers: G. Regondi, J. K. Mertz, N. Coste. For

those participants who play the seven-string guitar, it is possible to perform

a composition by M. Pavlov-Azancheyev, instead of the above mentioned

composers. The timing must not be longer than 15 minutes in total.

• III round: The program includes:

1) free program including one or several works by Russian composers of the

XX-XXI centuries: N. Koshkin, I. Rekhin, V. Shebalin, S. Rudnev, S.

Orekhov, A. Zelensky, D. Borodayev, V. Kharisov, V. Kozlov, A. Ivanov-

Kramskoy (it is possible to perform arrangements and adaptations of folk

music). Besides, performing of other music is possible. It is also allowed to

play the pieces from I and II rounds.

2) adaptation of a song or romance by S. Rudnev.

The timing must not be less than 15 and not more than 20 minutes in

total.

Attention! For those participants who play the seven-string guitar the

program in III round is free. It is allowed to play the pieces from I and II

rounds.

The timing must not be less than 15 and not more than 20 minutes in

total.

9. THE ORDER OF AWARDING PARTICIPANTS OF THE

FESTIVAL-COMPETITION

9.1 The winners of the Festival-Competition in all age-groups are awarded with

diplomas of the corresponding degree and the title of a laureate or a diploma-

winner, as well as memorable presents.

9.2 The jury has the power to award the teachers of prize-winners, who

demonstrated the best results, with diplomas (certificates of achievement).

9.3 The jury has the right to award not all diplomas and to share the prizes between

several participants (with the exclusion of I prize)

9.4 The I-degree laureate in “D” age-group (professional group) is awarded with a

concert six-string guitar created by a guitar master Ivan Steklyannikov (Penza).

The cost of the concert guitar is 200 000 roubles.

9.5 Laureates of “D” age-group are provided with money prizes. The amounts of

money prizes will be published additionally.

9.6 The I-degree laureate in “E” age-group (students of musical colleges) is

awarded with a concert six-string guitar NEWTONE, Laureat series. The cost of

the concert guitar is 125 000 roubles.

9.7 Winners of the Festival-Competition in all age-groups are provided with

special prizes from the partners and sponsors of the Festival-Competition.

9.8 Special prizes are awarded according to the decision of the jury of the Festival-

Competition.
