    Our next quarterly neighborhood meeting is beingscheduled a week later than usual (first Tuesday) dueto the very important national election. We didnt wantto put our neighbors in conflict with our meeting and theimportant news of the election.

    For this next meeting Chairman Dean has arranged fora special presentation by Christopher Comeau, AICP,Transportation Planner for the city of Bellingham.Christopher will be talking about the Alabama StreetCorridor Multimodal Safety Improvement FeasibilityStudy. Youve heard and read some of the aspects ofthis project, and now you have an opportunity to speakto the city planner about how this effort will affect yourlives. Bring your questions and learn more aboutwhere this is all going.

    MNAC News October, 2012 Jimmy Kelsey, our Rep

    Mayor Kelli Linville has been discussing ways to improve the effectivenessof communications between neighborhood associations and her officethrough the Mayors Neighborhood Advisory Commission. At our October17 th meeting she offered a suggested revision to the Bellingham MunicipalCode changing MNAC role in the project and neighborhood plan reviewprocess in an attempt to avoid duplication by MNAC of work done in thePlanning Department. I have a copy of her suggested revision and if anyoneis interested in discussing it further please call or email.

    Parks Director James King provided information on plans for work on ArneHanna Aquatic Center and replacing the field turf for Civic Stadium. He alsodescribed plans to trim the trees in the view from the view platform near thetop of the Arboretum to allow views of the city. *** continued on page 2

    City BeatWater Metering ProgramState law requires that all waterservice connections be metered byJanuary 2017. Staff analyzed meter reading routes, billingcycles, and installation processes todevelop a cost-effective and efficientschedule for both the water utility andcustomers

    The Alabama Hill Association is a neighborhood association open to all residents within the boundaries of Alabama Hill.

    If you are receiving this newsletter, you are a member. An annual $20 donation per family is suggested. The year of yourlast donation appears after your name on your address label. The monies collected are used to pay for mailings and the entreat the annual picnic held in August. Those of you who have attended know it is a good deal!

    Meetings are held quarterly starting at 7:00 PM. (1 st Tuesday - Feb, May, Aug, Nov) Come join us and meet your neighbors.
