Think about it:

The Bible is our sole authority for our faith

and practice.

Memory Verse- Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,

Your Thoughts

We must change our thinking of the church as a building and recognize that the church is the people. The church is a group of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the Great Commission. The church began with Christ and His disciples and was empowered at Pentecost. As we understand who the church is and when the church started, we can begin to rightly apply Christ’s command clearly and effectively. Jesus Christ, with nail pierced hands, gave a clear command to His church that we often refer to as the Great Commission. This is not some new idea in the scriptures. Reading through the Bible, we will quickly see a common theme and purpose. God has a specific plan and purpose in this world. He has a specific plan and purpose for His church which is made up of people. Simply put, God has a purpose for you! It is time we stand up and take responsibility for the clear teaching of the Bible for our lives as believers. God has a mission today for you & I on this earth!

2God’s Mission for the Local Church

THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

God invested all and has never stopped. How valuable is God’s Mission to you?

Your Thoughts

Think about it:

God has a mission for you. A specific job

that you are responsible for.

Think About it:

When we do not do what we should do we are disobeying God’s

command.

God has a Mission A mission is an important assignment carried out. It is a strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling. I think of a Navy seal given a mission to go on. He does not return until the mission is complete. He gives every effort and resource to see the mission is accomplished. He is willing to lay down his life for this mission. There is a point of no return. This consumes his thinking and becomes his passion. God has a mission for you. Think of that! God’s mission can be understood by reading these few verses through scripture: Exodus 9:16, Joshua 4:24, I Samuel 17:46, Isaiah 52:10, Luke 19:10, John 3:16, and Revelation 5:9-10, 7:9. Can you see the reoccurring emphasis through these verses?

God’s mission is that all people everywhere would know who He is. God’s mission is bringing a sinful mankind back into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. God desires to have some, “out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”

God’s Mission is Important Because: 1.He talked about it before the world began (Titus 1:2) 2.Was the first conversation with fallen man (Gen. 3:15) 3. Of the covenant with Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3)

God’s Heart in His Mission 1. God created the whole world (Gen. 1:1) 2. The whole world is to Know God (I Sam. 17:26) 3. God loves the whole world (John 3:16) 4. God is given for the whole world (I Jn. 2:2) 5. God wants some from every nation (Rev. 5:9 & 7:9)

“The Church of the Living God” Lesson 2

Jesus Christ, with nail pierced hands, gave the church clear commands of what to do until He returns. We must understand clearly who this command is given to. Jesus Christ gave this command to the church. The church is not the building but the people. So, who is responsible to fulfill this command? You are fully responsible! This command is given in five parts that make up the whole. 1. John 20:21- We are sent with a divine authority.

What gives you and I the right to interrupt people’s lives to tell them about Jesus? The Creator of the universe gives us the authority to go!

2. Luke 24:44-46- We see the message that we are to tell. Jesus Christ died and rose again for the sins of the whole world. People must repent of their sins to be saved. We are to be witnesses. This is one who possess information or knowledge of something. We must be a witness before we can witness. The noun must come before the verb.

3. Matthew 28:18-20- We are not alone. Christ promised to go with us. We are to, “teach all nations”. Teach means to make disciples. It means to learn, become attached to one’s teacher, and to become his follower in doctrine and conduct of life.

4. Mark 16:15- There is no person or place to stop. 5. Acts 1:8- The power to accomplish the great work. You can determine the value of something by how much someone is willing to invest into it and how long someone is willing to work at it.

Your Thoughts

God’s Mission Should be Our Mission
