Britain commissioned propaganda posters in spring of 1939. The posters were to boost

people’s morals. The posters were to give a message from the king to his people telling that he is

doing his best to protect the nation (Lewis). Britain feared that they would be gas attacked,

bombed, and invaded so they made the help people through the attacks (Lewis). There were three

posters they were all to be similar, they also made it difficult to have enemies to counterfeit the

items (Lewis). The first poster read “Freedom is in Peril Defend it With All Your might” which

had a green background (Slack). The second read “Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your

Resolution Will Bring Us to Victory” had a blue background (Slack). The last read “Keep Calm

and Carry on” which was mostly meant to be used during an invasion (Lewis).
