2-3 DECEMBER 2015 / OLYMPIA LONDON

Recent events making the headlines underpin just how vulnerable our transport systems are. Indeed, the head of MI5, Andrew Parker, highlighted 'transport systems' as a key target in his public speech on the 8th January 2015.

Now in its 13th edition, Transport Security Expo (TRS) has become the main global platform bringing Government, Industry & Academia together to counter the threat against our transportation networks. Welcoming over 4,500 international security professionals; 200+ leading brand name global exhibitors; 30 official Government hosted country delegations and 10 UK Stakeholder Agency Delegations, TRS provides a high-level environment for decision makers and influencers with significant purchasing power.

Keeping our transport systems safe and secure for passengers, cargo and high value goods in transit is an enormous challenge requiring major investment. TRS provides a high-level environment for exhibitors from across the security spectrum to access the decision makers and influencers, buyers and specifiers who have that purchasing power.

TRS is organised by Nineteen Events, an award-winning producer of large-scale exhibitions supported by conferences, workshops, master classes, seminars and live demonstration programmes.

SECTORSAviation SecurityAviation is arguably the highest priority on the political and public agenda for security, with airports and airlines remaining a considerable target for terrorists. The event’s longest-established sector, Aviation Security at TRS attracts the world's leading airports, airlines, freight and cargo handlers.

In 2014 over £8.6m of procurement was brought to TRS from the following visitors alone:• Research and Development Manager, Heathrow Airport• Operational Manager Airport Security, Rotterdam The Hague Airport • Director of Safety and Security, British Airways • Security Divisional Vice President, The Emirates Group • National Scanner Manager, UK Border Force • Head of Security, CityJet.

Rail & Road SecurityThe security of Rail & Road infrastructure, including national rail networks, bridges and tunnels, continues to be high on the Government agenda. As well as being part of the Critical National Infrastructure in their own right, rail and road networks also link other key areas of Transport Security such as Border, Major Events Transport and Secure Transportation.

In 2014:• Director of Railways, Saudi Binladin Group attended TRS with £4m to spend on Perimeter Security, Video Analytics and Access Control• ADIF, responsible for Spain’s rail infrastructure, attended with £500,000 to spend on CCTV, Cyber and Command & Control.• British Transport Police – Crime Reduction Unit attended with £220,000 to spend on Perimeter, CCTV and Access Control.

Maritime SecurityThe world relies on a safe, secure and efficient international shipping industry which is still responsible for some 90 per cent of global trade. Over the past decade, major ports and ship owners have come under increased pressure to harden their assets against piracy and serious organised crime. So too has the Oil & Gas community, particularly since the 2013 attack on Algeria's Natural Gas Plant.

In 2014:• Associated British Ports (Southampton) attended TRS with £2.1m to spend on Screening, Scanning, Crowd Management and CBRN.• Portugal Port and Maritime Security Authority attended with £400,000 to spend on Access Control, CCTV and Emergency Evacuation.• Spanish Port Authority attended with £310,000 to spend on System Integration, Access Control and CCTV.
