Hi Parents, My name is Amy Logan and I am the author of A Girl With A Cape™. I am excited to tell you that I will be visiting your child(ren)’s group soon to share this story! Let me give you a little summary of what the first (there are 4 in the series) book is about:

A little girl wears a really cute leopard-print scarf as a cape because she thinks of herself as a superhero and wants to make a big difference in the world. As the days pass, she goes about her day while looking for something BIG she can do, and in the mean time, she’s using kind words, being polite, and doing kind things. By the end of the week, she doesn’t feel that she’s made a difference and gets angry at her “cape,” throws it down, and yells at it. Mom overhears this and assures her that she HAS made a difference in the world - a BIG difference. She tells her that her WORDS are her superpower and that she can change the world by her kind words and her actions.

I have a feeling that not only will your child(ren) love this story, but you will too! A Girl With A Cape™ and now A BOY WITH A CAPE are all about paying it forward with kindness. I believe that these stories will help spread awareness about the importance of our everyday actions, and just as important, be a story that kids and adults will cherish for a long time. I believe YOU are very important in helping me spread this awareness & in helping to create a world full of superheroes ~ our children. How can you help? On A Girl With A Cape’s website: www.GotYourCape.com/rockthecape, there’s a calendar that you can download & print for your child to keep track of all the kind things they do or say on a monthly basis. Once they complete a month, you can mail/email it to our office so they can get an I Make A Difference card in the mail signed by me & get entered into a drawing for something fun! There are also other activities on the site they can print up and do. Books are available for purchase at www.GotYourCape.com.

I want to thank you in advance for you support of A Girl With A Cape™. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes our children to change the world. That has to start with us. Here’s to changing the world, one random act of kindness at a time!

Feel free to contact me at [email protected], and pass this info along.

Dear Parents and Families:

Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

x Set the example. Let children see you read.x Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep pace

with changing tastes and reading skills.x Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books

to read.

Book Fair dates: February 13th-16thShopping hours: Monday-Wednesday 9am-noon and 3-6:30pm

Estimados padres y familiares:

Atentamente,

Vince Murray

Director
