l. SUMMARY!

On 1 Deeember and 2 December 1953, this battalion remained encamped at CS 084894 and eopUnued its intensive training in small unit tactics.

From 3 December to 14 December 1953 this battalion occupied the left bat-talion sector of the General outpo.A Une, undex- operational control of the Northern regiment. During this period, rehearsals were held of emergency plans that were pre~rranged by tile bcttalion being relieved,

From 1.4 December to .31 December 195.3 this battalion assisted the 1st and 2nd Battalions of tile lst l,!arinea in improving their fortifications on the lliiin battle posiUons, Daily working parties from this Wlit moved by truck to their respective world.ng areas. During this period, members or the batto.licn start and company effioers made detniled reconnaissances of newly assigned blocking poutions in the vicinity of CS 0592.

14 December 19531 At 0900I, tbe advance party of this battalion departed the tarvard battalion area for base camp. At 1400! the 2rd Bn, 5th Marines commenced-relief of this battalion on poaitions. At 15201, ColC118l R. M, 'l'c.pkina rlaited the battalion OP. At 16251, this battalion vas relieved as left battalion or the Northern Regiment by 2nd Bn, 5th MariJiea, and operational control paned to CCI!!I!!IInding otfic411", let Marines. At 16301, the forward c011111111.rd post at CS 010963 vu closed, tba comroard group en route to base camp. At 17301, bue cap commard post at CS 084896 vas opened. ~ 18001 all personnel ot this bat-talion had returned to base camp.

15 December 19531 Co-encing at 09001, a battalion formation for the presenta-tion of awards vas held on the battalion drill .tield. Major H.W. Stanlrull presented the avards. Routine day followed.

16 December 19531 At 0001! Major H. W. Stankus relieved Lieutenant Colonel louie Metsger as Commending Otricer. The battalion commenced vork on let Marines main battle positions.

17 December 1953 1 Routine day-. At 09001, Lieutenant Colonel F. Aldridge, DiVision Ianl Gunfire otficer, arrhed in battalion area to conduct a vorking iDipection ot this unit. At 11001, Lieutenant Colonel Aldridge departed from the battalion area.
