Dear Colleagues,

The fi rst International Instructional Course on Burns and Ad-vanced Burn Life Support is organized by the Burn Section ofCroatian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeryin association with the Burn Section of Slovenian Associationof Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

This course is a part of Instructional Courses of InternationalSociety-Fellows in Science established in 2011 by contribution offour National Societies: Croatian Society of Plastic, Reconstructiveand Aesthetic Surgery, Slovenian Association of Plastic, Recon-structive and Aesthetic Surgeons, Serbian Society of Plastic, Re-constructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Society of Plastic, Recon-structive and Maxillofacial Surgery of Bosnia and Hercegovina.

The main objectives of this Instructional Course on Burns and Advanced Burn Life Support is promoting update concepts of burn care, advanced burn life support guidelines and establish-ing transport protocol to Burn Units and Centers in Clinical Hos-pitals. Invited speakers will share their experience and expertise on outpatient treatment, surgical treatment, burn reconstruction principle, intensive care, as well as rehabilitation of burned patient.

The aim is to teach younger generation of professionals how totreat burn injury by understanding total burn care principles andorganization of Burn Centers or Units.

Instructional Course on Burns and Advanced Burn Life Support isorganized with the support of Ministry of Health of the Republic ofCroatia and European Burn Association.

It will be held in Šibenik, Croatia, a beautiful town on Adriatic Coastin October, from 03 to 05, 2014. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay in Šibenik and also take home update concepts of burn care.

Dragi kolege,

Prvi Međunarodni tečaj za opekline i napredno održavanje životau opeklinskoj skrbi organizira Sekcija za opekline Hrvatskog društva plastične, rekonstrukcijske i estetske kirurgije u suradnji sa Sekcijom za opekline Slovenskog društva za plastičnu, rekon-strukcijsku i estetsku kirurgiju.

Ovaj tečaj je dio edukacijskih tečajeva Međunarodnog udruženjaFellows in Science nastalog 2011. godine uz potporu četiri društva: Hrvatskog društva za plastičnu, rekonstrukcijsku i estetsku kirurgiju, Slovenskog društva za plastičnu, rekonstrukcijsku i estetsku kirurgiju, Srpskog društva za plastičnu, rekonstrukcijsku i estetsku kirurgiju te Društva za plastičnu, rekonstrukcijsku i maksilofacijalnu kirurgiju Republike Bosne i Hercegovine.

Glavni ciljevi tečaja su predstavljanje novih smjernica suvremene opeklinske skrbi te protokola transporta pacijenata u Centar ili Jedinice za opekline. Pozvani predavači podijeliti će svoje znanje i iskustvo o principima ambulantnog liječenja opeklina, kirurškog liječenja, kirurških rekonstrukcijskih zahvata, intenzivnog liječenja i rehabilitaciji pacijenta sa opeklinskim ozljedama.

Želimo pružiti kako stručnjacima tako i mlađim generacijama uvid u suvremene smjernice liječenja opeklina.

Edukacijski tečaj je organiziran pod pokroviteljstvom Ministarstvazdravlja Republike Hrvatske i Europskog društva za opekline.

Datum održavanja je od 3. do 5. listopada, 2014. godine u pre-krasnom srednjodalmatinskom gradu Šibeniku.

Veselimo se zajedničkom druženju na tečaju te mogućnosti da sašibenskog putovanja ponesete profesionalno i osobno vrijednoiskustvo.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM /ZNANSTVENI PROGRAMThe Course will be organized in a form of oral presentations, and satellite symposium. Presentations will be in English (without simultaneous translation) or Croatian. Kongres će se odvijati u obliku usmenih izlaganja i satelitskih simpozija. Usmena izlaganja bit će na engleskom (bez simultanog prevođenja) i hrvatskom jeziku.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITING PAPERS / UPUTE ZA PISANJE ČLANKAParticipants who would like to present an oral presentation must submit a paper for consideration by the Scientifi c Committee.

Papers should be written in English. Paper font: Arial 10 pt, Paper headline sould be capitalized: Arial 12 pt. Author’s and co-author’s last name and fi rst name initial without titles. Author’s and co-author’s institution, city, and country.

Paper content: Introduction; Reviewing the evidence base medicine; Epidemiology, aetiology, and clasifi cation; Pathophysiology, and clinical picture; Diagnosis; Management; and Conclusion. The papers will be published in Course Manual.

Sudionici koji žele održati usmeno izlaganje moraju poslati stručni članak na engleskom jeziku koji će pregledati Znanstveni odbor.

Članak molimo pisati na engleskom jeziku. Vrsta slova (font) za pisanje članka: Arial 10 pt. Naslov članka pisati velikim slovima: Arial 12 pt. Prezime i početno slovo imena autora i koautora bez titula. Naziv institucije, grada i države autora i koautora.

Članak mora sadržavati slijedeća poglavlja: Uvod, pregled zdravstvenih dokaza (EBM), epidemiologija, etiologija i klasifi kacija, patofi ziologija i klinička slika, dijagnoza, zbrinjavanje i zaključak.Članci će biti tiskani u Tečajnom priručniku.
