The application has been considered in the 52nd Meeting of Expert Committee held on 27 1 h October, 2014 and it is to inform that the Ministry has no objection for import of 1,00,000 MT of non-activated glass cullet by M/s Videocon Industries Ltd., Bh at'uch (Gujarat) who are the actual users for manufacturing of colour 1V glass. The permission for import is valid till the validity of the Consent to Operate/Authorization, whichever is earlier, as issued by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board. 3. The importer should maintain records for the imports and the quantities recycled by them for the inspection of agencies concerned. The Gujarat Pollution Con torl Board sha ll closely monitor the import. Further, the import of non-activated CRT galss cu llet should not be contaminated with other waste and the board shall regularly monitor the unit and keep the Ministry informed. 4. As per HW Rules, 2008, the Customs Authorities at the Ports/ICDs have the respon si bility to verify the documents, draw random samples prior to clearing consignments. T hey are also required to take action under the Customs Act., 1962 against importers found to be viol ating these rules. 5. The importer has to obtain an import authorization from DGFT, wherever the import policy of such items are restricted under ITC (HS)/Foreign Trade Policy/Procedures. 6. This has reference to the application of M/s Videocon Industries Ltd., Bharuch (Gujarat), submitted to the Ministry seeking permission for import of non-activated CRT Glass Cullet for manufacturing of colour 1V glass.

2. The application has been considered in the 52nd Meeting of Expert Committee held on 271h October,

2014 and it is to inform that the Ministry has no objection for import of 1,00,000 MT of non-activated glass cullet by M/s Videocon Industries Ltd., Bhat'uch (Gujarat) who are the actual users for manufacturing of colour 1V glass. The permission for import is valid till the validity of the Consent to Operate/Authorization, whichever is earlier, as issued by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board.
