Images of America Congratulations and thanks to Marge Edelson and Kay Township of Ocean Zimmerer on their newly published book, a pictorial history

of our town. Interest is high and sales are brisk. Donated proceeds will greatly help in our preservation and educational projects. Books can be purchased at the Museum on Tuesdays 1 – 4 p.m. for $16.99 or by mail for $18.25. Call 531-2136 or 531-0775 for information.

Docents Needed The third grades will begin visiting the Museum on September 29. People, who love history and Ocean Township are needed to guide tours on Tuesday mornings 9 – 11 am. Training provided. Call 531-2136.

’97 Exhibit Interest in local history is growing as we approach the Ocean Township, end of this century. Baby Boomers are researching Then and Now their roots. Neighboring towns are celebrating centennials.

Antique and collectible fairs attract large crowds. We begin to think about the Township of Ocean’s Sesquicentennial in 1999

Featuring the Images of America book, we will highlight historicAreas of Ocean Township, what brought us here, and how vibrant community groups still flourish amidst changes to the community.

Playhouse Repairs are completed on the Playhouse. Grant money from Monmouth County Historical Commission has helped to replace the door and the damaged floor, and provide for a new cedar fence.

Membership Thanks to all the new members, who along with the entire membership enabled the Museum to provide for the community the only cultural institution in Ocean Township.
