Editorial 1987: A Year of Transition R. Morgan Pigg, Jr. w ho said, "It's summer time, and the livin' is easy?" The past summer was anything but "easy." In a major advancement for our Association, the National Office moved into newer, more spacious facilities in Ken't, Ohio, reflecting the continued growth of our organization the past several years. In addition, several significant events occurred regarding your JOURNAL OF SCHOOL HEALTH. JOURNAL INDEX During the summer, some two years of work culminated in completion of the first comprehensive in- dex to literature published in our JOURNAL since 1930. Tentatively titled the JOURNAL OF SCHOOL HEALTH INDEX, 1930-1986, the publication includes some 8,000 entries arranged under 198 subject headings. The index should be available for purchase during the 61st Annual Meeting of the Association in Indianapolis, Oct. 7-10. Three individuals deserve recognition for making the dream of an index a reality. John R. Seffrin, PhD, FASHA, Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Applied Health Science at Indiana University, provided the per- sonnel and resources to complete the project. Likewise, Editorial Assistants Laura Kann and Beth Collins of- fered their technical skills to compile the index. Laura received a doctorate from Indiana University, and she currently works as a School Health Education Specialist at the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta. We ap- preciate Laura's outstanding work the past two years. Beth, a doctoral student at Indiana University, will con- tinue as an Editorial Assistant. ASSISTANT EDITOR FOR RESEARCH In another personnel matter, I am pleased to report that Mohammad R. Torabi, PhD, MPH, MSPH, FASHA, joins the editorial staff this month as our new Assistant Editor for Research. Mohammads unique blend of technical expertise and sensitivity to the needs of researchers will strengthen our effort to publish quali- ty data-based material. R. Morgan Pigg. [r.. HSD. MPH. FASHA. With assistance from our efficient editorial staff at Kent, the relocation of the Editor's office from In- diana University to the University of Florida occurred smoothly, and the staff looks forward to continuing our efforts to bring you a quality JOURNAL. w h o said, "It's summer time, and the livin' is easy?" The past summer was anything but "easy." In a major advancement for our Association, the National Office moved into newer, more spacious facilities in Ken't, Ohio, reflecting the continued growth of our organization the past several years. In addition, several significant events occurred regarding your JOURNAL OF SCHOOL HEALTH.

JOURNAL INDEX During the summer, some two years of work

culminated in completion of the first comprehensive in- dex to literature published in our JOURNAL since 1930.

Laura received a doctorate from Indiana University, and she currently works as a School Health Education Specialist

at the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta. We ap- preciate Laura's outstanding work the past two years. Beth, a doctoral student at Indiana University, will con- tinue as an Editorial Assistant.

ASSISTANT EDITOR FOR RESEARCH In another personnel matter, I am pleased to report

that Mohammad R. Torabi, PhD, MPH, MSPH, FASHA, joins the editorial staff this month as our new Assistant Editor for Research. Mohammads unique blend of technical expertise and sensitivity to the needs of researchers will strengthen our effort to publish quali- ty data-based material.

RELOCATION OF EDITOR'S OFFICE Finally, the past summer marked a period of transi-

tion for my family. Last month, we moved to Gaines- ville, Fla., where I became Chairman of the Dept. of Health Science Education at the University of Florida. The pain of leaving a fine community and a great uni- versity was soothed by the warmth and acceptance ex- tended by our new friends and colleagues in Florida.

I would be ungrateful if I did not again cite my friend and colleague, John Seffrin, for his support of our JOUR-

NAL since I became Editor in 1984. Likewise, I acknowl- edge the University of Florida for its commitment to provide equivalent support for the JOURNAL in the future.
