  • 머 리 말 Preface

    최근 빈번하게 발생되고 있는 이상

    기후와 이에 따른 기상재해는 21세기

    를 살아가는 우리 모두의 최대 관심사

    가 되고 있습니다. 기후문제는 단 하나

    뿐인 지구의 생존까지 위협할 수 있다

    는 인식을 확산시키기에 이르렀습니다.

    이런 시점에서 과거의 기후를 이해하고

    미래의 변화를 예측하는 것은 대단히

    중요한 일이며, 이에 따라 기후자료의

    요구와 이용이 더욱 증가하고 있습니

    다.

    기상청은 세계기상기구의 규정에

    따라 1962년에 최초로 1931년부터 1960년,

    그리고 1991년에는 1961년부터 1990년

    까지의 기후표준평년값(Climatological

    Standard Normals)을 ‘한국기후표’로 발간

    하였습니다. 또한 2001년에는, 1971년부터

    2000년까지의 기후평년값(Climatological

    Normals)을 발간한 바 있습니다. 금년

    에는 1981년부터 2010년까지 최근 30년

    간의 기후평년값을 산출하여 발간하게

    되었습니다.

    한국기후표에는 기상청 산하 73개 관측

    지점의 지난 30년간의 지상 기상 평년값

    이 관측지점별, 일별, 순별, 월별, 계절

    별로 수록되었으며, 연평년값과 계절

    값이 포함되어 있습니다.

    기상자료를 필요로 하는 분들에게

    유익하고 편리하게 이용되기를 바랍

    니다.

    The worldwide unusual weather and

    its related natural disasters are one of

    the global concerns in the 21st

    century. These lead us to worry

    about the future of the earth. The

    demand for the historical records of

    climate has further increased and

    diversified owing to the awareness of

    their importance in understanding and

    hence making better prediction of

    future climate.

    According to the World Meteorological

    Organization (WMO) technical regulations,

    KMA published the Climatological

    Standard Normals for consecutive

    30-year periods 1931-1960 and 1961-

    1990 in 1962 and 1991, respectively.

    Climatological Normals for 1971-2000

    were calculated in 2001. The current

    Climatological Normals are updated

    observation data from 1981 to 2010.

    These meteorological data, obtained

    from 73 observation stations in Korea,

    are classified by station, day, 10-day,

    month and season. Also included are

    annual normals and seasonal extremes.

    I hope this newly published

    "Climatological Normals of Korea" is

    widely used in climate research and

    many other fields for various purposes.

  • 일러두기 NOTES

    1. 모든 요소의 관측시각은 동경 135° 자

    오선을 기준으로 한 한국표준시이다.

    1. The observation time for all elements is

    the Korean Standard Time (KST), 135° E

    meridian (UTC plus 9 hours).

    2. 통계기간은 1981~2010년(30년간)이며,

    관측기간이 30년 미만인 곳은 자료가

    있는 모든 기간에 대해 통계 수록하였

    으나, 그 기간이 10년 미만인 곳은 제

    외시켰다.

    2. The statistics are based on the period of

    30 years, from 1981 to 2010. When the

    total observation period is shorter than

    30 years, the entire period is used for

    statistics while records with less than 10-

    year observation are excluded.

    3. 관측 장소가 이전된 지점에 대해서는

    통계기간을 분리하여 통계하였으며, 10년

    이상 기간의 최근자료를 우선으로 사용

    하였다.

    3. When a station is relocated, data are

    separately compiled for statistics. The

    data of the latest and observation period

    longer-than 10 years are used preferably.

    4. 요소별 통계기간은 연속적인 경우에는

    통계 시작 연도를 표시했고, 마지막 연

    도는 모두 2010년 12월이므로 생략했다.

    다만, 관측이 중단된 관측소에 대해서

    는 마지막 연도를 표시했다.

    4. The beginning years of statistics are

    indicated on page ⅷ, while the final year

    (assuming December 2010) are not given

    except for stations of which observation is

    suspended before December 2010.

    5. 자료의 산출방법은 아래와 같다.

    가. 일별 평년값

    1) 일별로 누년 평균한 값을 5일간 이동

    평균한 값이다.

    5. Definition of terms used:

    a. Daily normals

    1) Daily normals are derived from

    5-days moving averages of daily

    means over the given period.

    2) 기압, 평균기온, 상대습도, 증기압,

    운량은 1996년까지는 1일 4회(03시,

    09시, 15시, 21시), 1997년부터는 1일

    8회(03시, 06시, 09시, 12시, 15시,

    18시, 21시, 24시)의 관측값을 평균한

    값을 이용하였다.

    2) Atmospheric pressure, mean temperature,

    relative humidity, vapour pressure, and

    cloud amount are obtained by averaging

    four observations a day (0300, 0900,

    1500, 2100 KST) in 1981-1996 and

    eight observations a day (0300, 0600,

    0900, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400

    KST) in 1997-2010.

    3) 기압은 해면기압을 수록하였다. 3) Atmospheric pressure is the mean

    sea-level pressure.

    4) 최고, 최저기온은 일중 극값(최고,

    최저)을 이용하였다.

    4) Maximum and minimum temperatures

    are the daily extremes values.

    5) 평균풍속은 24시간 풍정으로부터

    구한 값을 이용하였다.

    5) Mean Wind speed is derived from the

    daily wind run.

    6) 강수량과 일조시간은 00시부터 24

    시까지의 일합계 값을 이용하였다.

    6) Precipitation amount and sunshine

    hours are the daily totals from 0000

    to 2400.

    7) 증발량은 09시부터 다음날 09시까

    지의 일합계 값을 이용하였다.

    7) Evaporation is the accumulated values

    from 0900 to 0900 KST next day.

  • 나. 순별 평년값

    1) 각 월을 상순, 중순, 하순으로 구분

    한 순별 평균값에서 평년값을 구했

    다. 상순은 1~10일, 중순은 11~20

    일, 하순은 21~말일로 구분하였다.

    b. 10-day normals

    1) Each month is divided into three

    terms; the lst (1-10th of the month),

    the 2nd (11-20th of the month) and

    the 3rd (21-the end of the month).

    The 10-day normals indicate the

    means of individual terms.

    2) 기압, 평균기온, 상대습도, 증기압,

    풍속, 운량은 일평균값을 순평균한

    것이다.

    2) Atmospheric pressure, mean temperature,

    vapour pressure, relative humidity, wind

    speed, and cloud amount are obtained

    by averaging daily means over the

    period of each term.

    3) 최고, 최저기온은 일최고, 일최저

    기온을 순평균한 것이다.

    3) Maximum and minimum temperatures

    are obtained by averaging daily extremes

    over the period of each term.

    4) 강수량, 증발량, 일조시간은 일합계

    값을 순합계한 것이다.

    4) Precipitation, evaporation, and sunshine

    hours are obtained by summing up

    daily values of each term.

    다. 월별 평년값

    1) 각 월의 평균값에서 평년값을 구했

    다.

    c. Monthly normals

    1) Monthly normals are derived from

    the averages of each monthly means.

    2) 기압, 평균기온, 상대습도, 증기압,

    풍속, 운량은 일평균값을 월평균한

    것이다.

    2) Atmospheric pressure, mean temperature,

    vapour pressure, relative humidity, wind

    speed, and cloud amount are monthly

    averages of the daily means.

    3) 지면온도와 0.05~0.3m 깊이의 지중

    온도는 1일 4회(03시, 09시, 15시,

    21시) 관측값을 평균한 값이다.

    3) Land surface temperature and soil

    temperature at 0.05-0.3m depths are

    derived from of daily four

    observations (0300, 0900, 1500, 2100

    KST).

    4) 일최고기온, 일최저기온, 최저초상

    온도는 매일의 극값(최고, 최저)의

    월평균값에서 구했으며, 0.5~5.0m

    깊이의 지중온도는 09시 1회 관측

    값에서 평년값을 구했다.

    4) Daily maximum and minimum temper

    -atures and grass minimum temperature

    are obtained by averaging their daily

    extremes. Soil temperatures at 0.5-5.0m

    depths are measured at 0900 KST.

    5) 월최고기온과 월최저기온은 그 달의

    극값(최고, 최저)에서 평년값을 구

    했다.

    5) Monthly maximum and minimum

    temperatures are derived from the

    extreme values of each month.

    6) 강수량, 증발량, 일조시간, 강수․

    안개 계속시간, 전천일사량은 월합

    계값에서 평년값을 구했다.

    6) Monthly precipitation, evaporation,

    sunshine hours, duration of precipi-

    tation, duration of fog and global

    solar radiation are obtained by

    summing up monthly totals.

  • 7) 대형증발량은 4~10월까지만 관측

    한 값이다.

    7) Large-scale evaporation is derived

    from data observed for 7 months

    from April to October.

    8) 풍향별 관측횟수의 백분율과 풍향

    별 평균풍속, 풍향별 최대풍속은

    매시 (1일 24회) 관측값으로부터

    구한 값이다.

    8) Percentage frequency of wind

    direction, mean wind speed of wind

    directions, and maximum wind speed

    of wind directions are derived from

    hourly observations (24times a day).

    9) 전년(ANNUAL)은 연평년값을 수록

    한 값으로 월별 평균 또는 합계와

    다를 수 있다.

    9) The values in the ANNUAL are

    annual normals. They can be different

    from monthly averages or sums.

    라. 표준편차

    1) 기압, 평균기온, 증기압은 표준편차

    를 수록하였다.

    d. Standard deviation (S.D.)

    1) Atmospheric pressure, mean temperature,

    and vapour pressure have standard

    deviation.

    2) 표준편차는 다음 식을 이용하였

    다.

    마. 계급별 일수

    주요 기상요소에 대하여 계급별로 구

    분해서 해당일수를 월별로 산출하였다.

    e. Categorized frequencies of weather

    Phenomena

    The number of days with major weather

    elements in each classification for each

    month

    바. 현상별 일수

    눈, 서리, 얼음, 우박, 안개, 황사, 뇌전

    이 관측된 일수를 월별로 산출하였다.

    f. Frequency of weather phenomena

    The numbers of days with snow, frost,

    freezing, hail, fog, sand dust, and

    thunderstorm

    1) 눈일수는 눈, 진눈깨비, 소낙눈, 소

    낙성 진눈깨비, 싸락눈, 가루눈, 눈

    보라가 나타난 일수를 포함한다.

    1) The number of snow days indicates the

    total days with snow, sleet, snow

    shower, rain and snow mixed shower,

    snow pellets, snow grains, or snow

    storm.

    2) 우박일수는 우박, 싸락우박, 동우가

    나타난 일수를 포함하며, ( ) 안에

    표현된 일수는 우박이 나타난 일수

    만을 나타낸다.

    2) The number of hail days indicates the

    total days with hail, small hail, or ice

    pellets, while the number in parenthesis

    indicates the days of hail only.

  • 3) 안개일수는 시정 1km 미만의 안개

    와 낮은 안개가 나타난 일수를 포

    함한다.

    3) The number of fog days indicates the

    total days of fog with visibility less

    than 1km.

    4) 뇌전일수는 뇌전, 천둥이 나타난

    일수를 포함하며 번개만 나타난 날

    은 제외한다.

    4) The number of thunderstorm days

    indicates the total days of thunderstorm

    or thunder. The days of lightning

    only are excluded.

    사. 계절별 평년값

    각 지점별로 봄은 3~5월, 여름은 6~8

    월, 가을은 9~11월, 겨울은 12~2월의

    월평년값을 사용하여 계절별로 산술평

    균하였다. 겨울은 29년 기간(1981년 12월

    ~2010년 2월)에 대해 통계하였다. 강

    수량과 증발량, 일조시간은 합계하였고,

    나머지 요소는 산술평균하였다.

    g. Seasonal normals

    They are obtained by averaging or

    summing monthly normals from March

    to May for Spring, from June to

    August for Summer, from September to

    November for Autumn and from

    December to February for Winter. The

    winter normals are based on the period

    of 29 years from November 1981 to

    February 2010.

    아. 연평년값

    1981~2010년까지 각각의 연값을 산출

    하여 산술평균하였다.

    h. Annual normals

    It is obtained by averaging each year's

    values from 1981 to 2010.

    자. 계절값

    현상의 첫날과 마지막날이 해를 달리

    하여 겨울철 동안에 나타날 수 있는

    계절값(얼음, 눈, 서리 등)은 1981년 7

    월부터 2010년 6월까지의 기간에 대하

    여 평년값을 산출하였다.

    극값과 가장 오래 계속된 기간은 창설

    이래의 관측값을 대상으로 하였다.

    가장 오래 계속된 기간은 해당 현상이

    가장 길게 계속된 때의 첫날과 마지막

    날 및 일수를 수록하였다.

    i. Seasonal extremes

    The data period of normal begins from

    July 1981 to June 2010 for those

    seasonal extremes which usually occur

    during winter such as first and last day

    of ice, snow, frost, etc.

    The entire data period from the first day

    of observation at each station are used

    for the earliest, latest and longest period

    of seasonal extremes.

    The longest period is from the first to

    the last occurrence day of the

    phenomenon, which lasted longest without

    any break.
