At the end of the year we tend to look back on the "good ole days," often remembering those challenging cleaning tasks or studying for those difficult tests. Some remember just being individually unique and crazy while others remember their friends. Bending the rules brings overall good memories, like having animals in the barracks or dumping snow on certain persons as they sleep.
All I need now is a red suit. Little Big Man.
We're related to the guy on page 16. Are we going to be in the yearbook?
My personal bed warmer.
Scrub, Scrub, Scrub.
Man, these kids never quit. Sometimes we just have to get out of hand.
The ultimate reminder of Wentworth would be the waxing of the floors, shining of shoes, marching and maybe the pretty girls occasionally seen on campus. '
Working company problems out, conforming to rules and minor difficulties became a way of life at Wentworth. Learning to take on responsibilities, understanding people's problems and helping their needs ultimately make a cadet what he is. Certainly everyone at Wentworth matures.
It's nice to have girls around some times. Sure wish man's best friend didn't stink so much.
And after that you can do the parking lot.
Another typical Sunday meal.
The cadet officers influence the direction of any year's corps. This year has seen changes in every company as well as many positions on battalion staff.
Which is the best company on campus? Which officers live up to their oath of office and are the ones most respected by the Rats? These are questions everyone should consider.

At Wentworth there are many kinds of facilities for the cadets, including one of the best field houses around. It has an indoor track, basketball courts, wrestling and weight rooms, a racketball court and a swimming pool. There is also a room where karate and firing activities take place. Because the field house is so big, sometimes the baseball coach holds baseball practice there.
Outside there are ten tennis courts, a football stadium, soccer and drill field, practice field and track.
Because of these facilities many cadets have been able to become physically fit as well as enjoy competition at varsity level.

The Military Department staff teaches the cadets many things that someday could be of great benefit. The military teaches first aid, map reading, survival, and rappelling. These things are helpful even to cadets who don't plan to go into the service. They will be able to save someone's life, or to get out of the woods if they are lost, build a fire and get the wood for it.
Cadets also learn how to give speeches and teach lessons.
No! I'm not going to carry your field gear :w«Ha
The administration building, the student union, and the sv. : iOol.
1980 marked the Second Century Development Plan, a $4 million capital fund drive to rebuild the burned out area of the campus. Included in the plans are a new barracks, a band room, a nine point rifle range with arms and supply rooms, and military and administrative offices to be located within the shell.
1980 was the year that Wentworth Military Academy was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, a nice 100th birthday present.
WMA is proud of its past and looking forward to the future.

MILITARY
This year the military gave a big surprise to returning old boys with their new gimmick "the new beginning." The thing that impressed the old boys the most was the issuing of all the field gear, and all the road marches and bivouacs.

HS FOOTBALL This year's 1980-81 hard
hitting football team ended the season with a 500 record of 4-4.
This year's team had a lot of talent. It was a very young team coached by Major Paul Butherus. The last four games of the season the football players pulled together as a team. With a lot of rookies, next year's team should be even more promising. And I thought the day of the dumb jock was
over? Dave Acosta breaks away for the touchdown.
First Row: Woytek, Russer, Andler, Hockett, Slater, Mudd, Amis, Hoffman, Coach Butherus; Second Row: Acosta, Bittrich, Fulier, Monteiiano, Becerrit, Soils, C. The junior college team is highly competitive with the help of coach Allard. The junior college team had excellent material returning from last year. The home games were always the best, as the team had a whole field house filled with cadet cheerleaders.

HS BASKETBALL TAKES CONFERENCE HONORS
The 1980-81 High School basketball team is very successful. With the help of several new draftees and the returning players from last year, Coach John Edwards had talent to work with. The final record was 15-7, a good enough record to tie Polo for first place in the Conference.
First Row: Shook, Ibarra, Boyd, Taylor, Richard, Becerrit; Second Row: Sand, Fairbanks, Green, Butler, Rieger, Stiehl; Third Row: Coach Edwards, Jarrett, Skelton, Antoine, St. John, LeSar, McKinney, Assistant Coach Gassman.

ALPHA Do you remember that foreign
student that came to Wentworth to learn English and went back home not knowing any language at all. What about someone's ice bed during the winter season? Or Spratley's early shower in the snow because he took an unauthorized sleepthrough.
Do you remember how we used to hate those early whistles for breakfast formation and finally on commencement day everybody had the pleasure of dancing on it.
As the year went on, we became closer to each other and by the end of the year, our friendship was as close as brothers.
There are many things that we will remember from Alpha company. We won't just keep them in our minds, but also in our hearts. Alpha company is still number one.

HEADQUARTERS COMPANY Do you remember when . . .
We saw the boats on the way to Washington, D.C.
Capt. Kendall having a problem with pronunciation at Arby's
Lt. Purdy wasn't hard at work playing frisbee.
We had toga parties during band, and of course, the morale increased.
The member of Headquarters Company would like to express their sincere appreciation to Capt. Roger Kendall, whose talent and consistency helped us overcome obstacles to make the band what it is today.

HONOR GUARD Remember wiien: Our 1st
Sergeant's room was never clean and never passed inspection! And what about Chamberlin, whose room did he live in? And Walker's favorite pastime?
But we will never forget the spirit of the drill team and the loyalty of the Honor Guard.
Honor Guard is A-OK. Proud to wear the blue
Beret from the air or on the run Honor Guard will always be No. 1.

DELTA Remember Delta, biggest
and best company on campus, exceeding 100 cadets formed into three platoons. Capt. Gann as the company commander with his XO Lt. Smith. The good times, parties and fun and the bad times, push-up parties and details. The work needed, and supplied, to be the best by the best. May Delta always be remembered as the best . . .

COMMENCEMENT
Commencement is both a happy and sad time of the year-The happiness of being free for a summer and the sadness of losing year-long friends.
The year's end is one full of excitement and of work. Uniforms and lock boxes and even the screens on concert and the practicing of the last and greatest parade of the year were done without a hitch.
The commencement speech was delivered by Senator David Doctorian, one of praise to the future of this year's 101st cadet corps.
An encouraging word. Col. Ungies receives an award of appreciation.
96
A captivated audience.
97
Everyone hugs each other. Col. Angove and FIngerson cry together.
98
